bumblebee's journey (book 1)

A/N 1.05k reads I'm so excited it's the highest I've ever been thank you all so much. Also I think I'm go to have to update every other day because one every day is just to much hope you understand.

Optimus pov:

Something was gently prodding me in my side as I slept. I opened my optics glazed over by sleep. I saw Ratchet gently prodding me to wake up. "I'm up" I said and started to sit up when I felt a weight on my side. "He's still asleep" ratchet said and looked to my side. I followed his gaze and saw bumblebee curled up beside me still in recharge. I gave a sigh and felt bad for having to wake him up but it was time. I used my other servo to gently start rubbing his helm. His baby blue optics flickered online and he gazed up at me. Still confused from sleep. ::sire:: he said and then his optics went wide and he shot up. ::s-sorry Optimus i-i d-didnt me-:: I cut him off. "It's alright bumblebee it doesn't bother me" I replied and he seemed to relax a little. He looked up at ratchet and his face when bright blue with embarrassment. ::r-ratchet:: he stammered out.

"No need to apologize but Optimus is needed in camp and so are you" he said and I sluggishly got up and stretched my stuff mussels. Bumblebee looks up at me one more time before his face when bright blue again and he hurried off. I gave a small chuckle once he was gone and looked back at ratchet. "You care for him" ratchet commented and started pulling something up on a data pad. "Yes I do, old friend" I replied and ratchet handed me the data pad. On it was a picture of me and bumblebee asleep together. I smiled at it and handed it back. "he looks up to you as a father" he added looking the way bumblebee had gone. "I know he does and I wish there was a way I could give him a better sparkling hood, one with no war one where he didn't lose everything" I said and slowly walked the same way.

"I wish the same for all the bots here" said the muffled voice of ratchet behind me. I gave a short nod and made my way to the center of our camp. "All Autobots fighting for our cause join me" I called letting my voice ring clear though our the camp summoning the soldiers. They soon gather around in a big clump waiting for me to speak. I took a deep breath and looked around our camp. I spotted bumblebee thought the crowded his big baby blue optics staring back at me. They reminded me of the stars, always shining no matter the situation. They have been the light that brings me hope in some of our darker hours many times leading me back to the truth of what we were fighting for. He was the reason we were still fighting, spreading a sense of hope and joy wherever he went.

I gave him a quick nod and he returned it with no more embarrassment on his face,  only pure hope and joy. I smiled to myself and turned to face the main crowd. "autobots I have dier new, our energon supplies are at a all time low and our reserves have run out, we cannot continue to wage war on the decepticons if we no longer possess enough energon to power our weapons and feed ourselves" I called and a wave of gasp rippled though the crowd followed by worried murmurs. "How will we survive" one of the bots from the crowd yelled. "yes how will we fight the cons" another one said. The crowd erupted into worried shouting and talking. I raised my servo in the air for silence and it came in a few moments. I looked over the crowd once more my gaze resting on bumblebee once more.

His optics were glowing like they were saying. 'i will follow you to the end of time and back' it gave me a new sense of confidence. "Autobots do not fear we may be out of energon here but during the earliest stages of our war our elders hid there energon spoils off world we will search for them in hopes they will provide us with the upper servo in this war" the crowd erupted into cheers but I knew I had more bad news for them. I waited for the crowd to become quite again. "That is not the end of the bad news I must share something with you all" I paused looking at the group of friends huddled together they knew what I was about to say. "The allspark is no longer at the core of our planet" the crowd burst into angry shouting and accusations. "Without the allspark femmes can't have Primus blessing" a mech called.

"I know you all fear for our future generations but if we had not the decepticons would have it by now, the allspark is deep in space and far out of reach from them thanks to our team" I said and motioned to bumblebee, Cascade, and rainshot. They were standing close together but there was a empty space between bumblebee and rainshot and I knew exactly who it was for. A small opening formed around them as the crowd parted to see them better. "We thank them for their bravery and courage, they were faced with many threats and made great sacrifices" I said and the crowd was soon filled with cheers and clapping. They all looked embarrassed and I decided it was time to tell them our plans.

"Autobots we must spit up if we wish to find these energon reserves, talk to ulta Magnus to receive your teams" I said and the crowd slowly started to diapers. I walked over to the group of friends as they started to walk away. The stopped and looked at me. "there will be no need to go see ultra Magnus you are part of my team" but said and awe creeped into there optics. "Why us" rainshot blurted out. I smiled at them. "There's something special about you and your friends but most of all you work together like no other and I trust all of you with my life" I said and turned to walk off leaving them at that. ::o-optimus:: I heard bumblebee call to me from behind. I turned to look at him. His friends had gone off leaving just me and him in the center of the camp

"Yes Bumblebee" I said turning fully to him. He shifting his peds nervously and glancing around us. He looked up at me his optics a brilliant blue. ::i-i wanted to thank you for last night:: he said and glanced behind me again before returning his gaze. ::that was the first time I felt safe in a long time:: he said and hung his helm sadly. I extended a servo to his shoulder. And gazed at him fondly. "I hope you did but that was also the first time I had a chance to make someone feel safe in a long time as well my friend" I responded and he looked up at me wide optic and I could tell he was smiling behind his mask. He turned and walked away and I looked after him. I smiled to myself and turned to find ratchet standing behind me.

"Hello ratchet what may I assist you with" I calmly asked. He shook his helm and looked at me. "You two are so sweet" he commented and smiled. Suddenly a wave of sadness washed over me. "I just wish I could make all his pain go away" I said admitting my greatest wishes. "I wish I could give him a family, a voice, a best friend but no, no matter what I do Megatron is always there to tare it down" I said and looked away a single story drop of coolant ran down my face. "So do I but somethings are just not meant to but but look he may not have a best friend, and he may not have a voice but he has a family, you are his family" ratchet replied and placed a servo on my shoulder. "Thank you ratchet, I just wish I could give him a proper life, I wish I could raise him away from this......war"
