"I have to bring them back" Erawan whispered to the stars, stars he knew wouldn't listen, not to this heartless monster who could only kill and destroy and take. It didnt matter if the wyrd keys were gone, he had conquered worlds before, decimated armies and there was nothing he wasn't capable of and he'd figure all of it out eventually but for now Neon Riding and his friends remain a constant pain in his ass. There had to be some sort of weak spot in those pestilent children. Erawan paced his fortress back and forth, his brothers, his war problems, his army, everything just seemed to pile up and even a demon king could only take so much. Okay okay, just break it down, thanks to the fire breathing bitch queen, Wyrd keys are no longer an option as mentioned before and according to his scouts, Neon is not amongst the Terassen court's ranks which could only mean that he must have went of  to try and track down the surviving Lycans.

Lycans.

That's when it hit him like a realm of bricks, Lycria. They were a freak kingdom, they must have had some sort of freak magic somewhere hidden in their depths. perhaps something that would aid in the efforts and get him what he wanted. If he could bring his brothers back then what he breeds right now in Morath would seem like lambs compared to what they could concoct and he could bring an entire world of Valg warriors as well, he would be reunited with his brothers, Neon Riding will perish, Terrasen will fall, this entire shit world will crumble and he'll have everything he wanted . Erawan mentally smacked himself, It was that fucking simple why hadn't he thought of this before, he could have had victory by now? All he needed to do was take a little trip...

Aelin sat on her window sill just staring out into the world, devoid of her usual exuberance. "What's wrong fireheart?" The question hadn't really registered until the Terassen king came over and placed a muscled hand on her lithe shoulder. Aelin leaned into the soothing commiserating touch. "He's plotting something" she murmured not entirely sure if Rowan had heard her.
"Lycaon?" Rowan asked, his trust for the prince not having quite fully developed, it's not as if they were old friends!
"No, Erawan"
"When is the bastard not plotting something?"
Rowan laughed a little at this cute similarity between his fiery mate and their nemesis. After all Aelin always had something up her sleeve but tonight it seemed like his mate was wary of the scheming. The queen closed her eyes, desperately trying but failing to shake off the almost excruciating gut feeling that she was two steps away from hell. She knew better than to ignore it. Her intuition had saved her life countless times back when she was working under Arobynn's service.

Arobynn.

Sadistic , manipulative, calculating, cynical and callous. She didn't regret his death, not by a long shot but in a way she did miss her old life. The life where her biggest worry was killing the next corrupt government official which was usually easy for someone of her skill set. Not being queen, fighting otherworldly demons or allying with foreign werewolves she never even knew existed. All she had to do was be Adarlan's assassin, the revered killer who stalked the night and struck terror into the crime lord's enemies. No no she couldn't think like this. If she had continued like that she would have either ended up dead or spent the rest of her life In Endovier being whipped and treated like trash. It's better this way, the controlling presence that haunted her life was finally gone, she met Rowan, her mate, she reunited with Aedion, the cousin she would gladly go to war for, she was home and now her intuition was firing up and whatever was coming next, she would face it with her court and she knew they would happily face it with her with smiles in their faces.

(A few weeks later)

He didn't bother bringing any warriors with him. After all he was just entering some sort of forgotten wasteland right? Of course the fallen kingdom was now devoid of its majestic beauty, nothing but ruins were left, he was surprised that anything was still standing actually, a testament to their doubtless strength, even years after they suffered absolute genocide and havoc at Erawan's hands, there was still something to see in this part of the world. He even recognised some structures here, like that ostentatious restaurant that royal family frequented, now little more than a pile of cold rubble, this massive playground that those abominable Lycan children played in as if they were just ordinary creatures and the palace. The beautiful, towering palace he had spent time in, befriending the royal family's youngest son, Lycaon Warrios under the guise of a rutting toddler. Erawan's eyes reported that after the palace was set ablaze, at least three lifeless bodies were found and confirmed to have been heavily charred or entirely reduced to ash from the intense heat, that must have been the king, queen and the girl however no one could find a toddler. He supposed that the child's minuscule body had simply been reduced to particles, devoured by the flames he had set to the home he was welcomed and fed in, at least that's what he told himself but something in that malevolent mind of his always seemed to nag him, telling him there was more to it...
