The grogginess that held his body captive was so powerful that Neon didn't even want to open his eyes. There was a weight on his arm and it was rather uncomfortable but the Lycan was too tired to even move. Finally he forced himself to open his eyes to see what was laying on his arm and beheld the dark hair of the fae healer who had helped save him through demonic possession.Neon smiled as he listened to the sound of her low breathing indicating that she was asleep.
Neon shifted a little to get comfortable which caused Miranda to startle awake with her eyes wide."oh gods, don't move from here, I'm going to get the Yrene". Before Neon could reply, she rushed off, he didn't know why she needed the help of this mortal woman given her own experience but he supposed, she wanted all the help she could get.Yrena and Miranda were the first two to burst back into the room followed by everyone else. "You gave us quite a scare there Neon, you ought to refrain from physical activity or expending any energy on magic for a good while" Yrene told him.
Like hell.
"Ughhh, I should have known you would show up to steal the spotlight from me" Aelin playfully whined earning a pat on the back from Rowan.Neon looked at Lorcan who he knew had cradled him like a child after he collapsed, his eyes may have been shut but in the last split seconds of consciousness he had been able to make out his hulking form and strangely he did feel relaxed a little in his arms. The Lycan gave him a thankful smile which was responded with a wink from the Demi-fae.
"I have existed for over 130 years and I have never seen a child go toe to toe with a Valg king and live to tell the tale". Neon knew Fenrys' statement was meant as praise but he rolled his eyes all the same.Yrene and Miranda worked for a few minutes on Neon, Healing the few injuries he had in his fight with Miranda, spiritual wounds that Valg prince had left in its wake and everything else that came from Erawan and then took a break to allow the others to bombard him with questions.
"So where the rutting hell did you go when the Valg left your body" Aelin half-demanded, Neon thought a little to try and recollect that mind-spinning phenomenon and Then proceeded to tell them everything, they all kept quiet and still, save for the occasional drops of their jaws when Neon said something that sounded utterly ridiculous, his story had raised more questions than it answered."What the hell is a death note?" Aedion who had been in the room, keeping intimately close with Lysandra, asked. "How should I know?" Neon huffed. "Hang on, did you mention someone claiming us to be characters in some fictional story" Aelin looked like she was about to explode from how utterly insane this was. "Throne of Glass" Neon told her, still not sure whether or not to believe it.
After a rather complicated arguement which involved far to much philosophy for the warrior's liking, Yrene told everyone to rest and even though they had clearly wanted to stay and ask him more stuff, they reluctantly began to clear out but Neon squeezed Miranda's hand who had been sitting right next to him the entire time indicating that he wanted her to stay.No one looked back when they left so Miranda and Neon were left alone together."Never do that to me again" She murmured, her voice low but firm, she had meant it. "I wanted you to be safe" Neon whispered back "And I had it personal with Erawan, he pretended to be my friend when I was a child all those years ago, I recognised him and wanted to kill him myself".
Miranda's eyes widened in shock, the amount of pain and betrayals the boy had endured in his young age and yet she hadn't thought that he had experienced one at such a young age, she would have done anything just to shake the horrors that haunted Neon's life. In the end, the fae healer couldn't find any words to express how sorry she was and how she wished to be able to lift some of the trauma from the Lycan's shoulders even if she would have to bear it herself. Instead she just laid her forehead on Neon's and closed her eyes, the latter was surprised at the bold action but quickly felt his body relax as his eyes closed as well, his hand never leaving Miranda's.
They hadn't noticed Aelin, Dorian, Manon and the court of Terrassen watching the two.
