Lex's pov

We watched one whole season of Hannah Montana and my parents should be getting back soon.

"Ahh I should get going, it getting late." Dakota says.

As much as I want him to stay, my parents would get suspicious about me and Dakota being alone in the house while they were gone.

"Yeah." I don't know what to say because of everything that has happened recently. Dakota changed it all in a matter of seconds.

We both get up and walk to the door.

He opens the door and steps outside and stands in front of me.

"I'll see you later alright?" He says looking into my eyes.

"Alrighty." I say looking into his.

It gets silent.

"I gotta go bye lex!" He says. Damnit I thought we were gonna kiss again.

"Bye Dakota!" I say shutting the door.

I walk up to my room and brush my teeth and change into grey sweatpants and a soft pink shirt.

I crawl onto my bed and lay there staring at my ceiling.

What's gonna happen to us? Are we gonna become something or are we just gonna tear apart?

My mind is filled with questions. I take out my phone and see that I have a text.

Dakota: goodnight beautiful xx

I kinda forgot that he had my number. But it was sweet of him to say that though. I smile to myself and type something back.

Lex: goodnight xo

I put my phone down and fall into a deep sleep.

--next morning--

I wake up to the sound of my alarm clock. I quickly stop it and slowly get up. I do my morning routine and change into light washed high waisted skinny jeans, grey crop top, and my black converse.

I curl my hair from the bottom and put on some mascara. I look at myself in the mirror and I gotta say, I look good. I smirk to myself and grab my backpack and walk downstairs.

"Good morning mom and dad!" I say with a smile walking downstairs.

"Good morning!" They both say.

I pour myself a bowl of lucky charms and put in some milk.

"I'm gonna drop you off today and I'm gonna pick you up from school as well." My dad says.

My mouth is still full but I manage to talk. "Got it." I say continuing to eat my cereal.

I finally finish it and me and my dad go into the car driving to school.

"Bye dad!" I say waving at him while I step out of the car.

"Bye lex have fun!"

I got the urge to tell him that it's school how am I gonna have fun? But I kept it inside and closed the door and walked into the hallway.

First things first, my math book.

I walk to my locker and get out my math book. The bell rings and I quickly go into class.

I see Dakota and we make eye contact. He smiles at me and I do the same back to him. I take my seat and get out my usual stuff.

As I'm writing down my notes, the classroom phone rings. I ignore it and just sit there being bored as always.

"Who?"

"Yes she's in this class."

"Mhm."

"I'll send her down."

"Okay."

"Bye."

He hangs up and looks at me.

"Lex, the principal wants you to go to his office." He says.

What did I do now?

The whole class looks at me silently.

I get my stuff and walk out the door going straight to where I was told.

I'm nervous. What if I somehow got in trouble again? But for what though? I haven't done anything.

I reach his office and walk inside.

He's talking with boy but I can't see his face, he's facing him. The principal sees me and stands up.

"Hello lex, I wanted you to come to my office because you will be showing our new student our campus!" He says. He probably chose me because of my good grades.

The boy turns around and looks at me.

"Lex?" He says getting up.

"Bryce?" I say looking at his features.

"Looks like you two already know each other." The principal says.

"Yeah we do." I say.

"Get going I need to make a phone call." He says to me.

Me and bryce walk out to the hallway and stand there.

"I haven't seen you in so long!" He says going in for a hug.

"I know I miss you!" I say hugging him.

He pulls away.

"So what's been going on since the last time we met?" He says.

"I'll tell you along the way, can I see your schedule?" I say.

He hands me it and I read it.

"You have every class with me except for second period and fifth!" I say.

"Awesome!" He says.

I've always admired Bryce. He's chill and funny. I already know that we're gonna become good friends.

"Let's go get your books then put them in your locker, then I'll show you around for the rest of the day." I say.

"Okay let's go."

We walk to the book room and talk along the way.

I told him about everything that's been happening ever since we separated when we met at the park.

By now we are walking around school still talking.

"I'm sorry but Dakota sounds like a douche." He says.

"It's fine I used to think the same about him." I say.

We both stay quiet till he speaks up.

"Do you wanna hang out today after school? I really have nothing to do." He says.

"Sure that'll be great!"

"I'll pick you up at five and we'll go to the mall or something I don't know."

"Sounds nice."

I'm looking forward to hanging out with Bryce. We're barely starting to catch up since the park and he's a really cool person to be around.

We hear the bell ring and I look at the time on my phone.

"Already time to go home?"  I say.

"That was fast wow" he says.

"Yeah it was, I'll see you at five?" I say starting to walk away.

"Yup, bye lex!" He says going the opposite way.

"Bye Bryce!" I say walking to my dad's car.
