Chapter 10

Dakota's pov

I wake up and take a quick shower then brush my teeth. I put on khakis with a black shirt.

I walk downstairs when have breakfast with everyone.

Wait? Where's lex?

Oh yeah she's in the hospital!

When I'm done eating I tell my parents that I'm gonna go visit lex at the hospital.

I take my penny board and skate to the hospital.

I ask the lady at the front desk what room she's in and I go straight to her room.

I walk up to her room and get inside. She's still sleeping. I take a chair and sit next to her and hold her hand.

There's something about this girl that is changing me. And I don't know what it is.

Lex wakes up a few mins later and looks around the room and spots my hand holding hers. Should I take it off or leave it I don't know what to do oh god...

She slowly takes her hand off of mine. Ouch.

"What are you doing here so early?"

"I came to visit you!"

"Don't you hate me?"

"We started over remember?"

"Oh....yeah I remember that!"

The doctor comes in and tells me that he needs to run some tests on her so I have to leave.

It takes about an hour and I just wanna go back inside already. He finally comes back out and motions me to go back in.

I sit on the same chair next to her and see that she's watching tv.

Something's wrong.

"Hey lex, you did tell your parents that you're in the hospital right?"

She turns to look at me and looks worried.

"NO I DIDNT I TOTALLY FORGET OH MY GOODNESS"

I pass her my phone so she can dial their number and FaceTime.

"THANK YOU DAKOTA."

"Anytime beautiful."

Oh shit did I just say that?

She keeps her eyes glued to the phone and her cheeks start to turn a little red. Awww that's cute.

"Mom? Dad?" She says looking at the phone.

"Hi sweetie! What's wrong why are you calling us from a different phone and WHY ARE YOU AT THE HOSPITAL AGAIN."

Well they must've seen the hospital gown on her and the wires around her.

"I'm in here because I um... I.... You know what I'll just tell you later." She says fake smiling.

"I just wanted to let you guys know."

"When are you getting out of the hospital?"

"Tomorrow."

"That's great! Is Dakota there?"

"Yes he's right here." She says turning the phone to me.

"Thank you for taking care of our lex." The dad says smiling at me.

"No problem." I say smiling.

"We owe you one kid." The mom says.

"No no no it's fine!" I say.

"If you say so!" Lex turns the phone back to her.

"We have to go honey, we'll talk to you later!"

"Okay bye mom and dad!"

"Bye stay safe!"

The call ends and she passes my phone back.

"Thanks for letting me talk to my parents."

"Of course."

We keep watching the tv. Time passes by and I'm getting hungry. It's about 6pm now. I've been here for a long time now. For her.

"Lex I'm gonna go eat I'm getting a little hungry I'll be back later!"

"Okay bye!" She says.

I walk out with my penny board and decide to go to a ice cream shop near by.

I finally get there and order.

"I'll have three scoops of the cookies and cream with sprinkles on top please?" I say.

"That'll be $4.56!" She says.

I hand her the money and she hands me my ice cream.

I take a seat by myself and eat my ice cream while scrolling through Twitter.

I hear some giggling and I look up and see some girls I've seen at school, looking at me.

I ignore it and keep eating my ice cream. I hear walking and I notice someone sitting at my table.

"Um do you need something or?" I say.

"No. But I want you." She says with a smirk.

"And I don't!"

I get up and take my penny board and ice cream with me.

"Oh cmon I know you want me too." She says.

"Not really!" I say walking out the door.

I get turned around by someone and next thing you know she's making me kiss her.

I pull away from her and keep walking to the hospital.

Tae's pov

I wonder what happened to Lex I haven't heard from her? Her parents are taking a vacation and if she was with Dakota she would've called me to come over and leave to get away from him.

I'm gonna call Haley and see if she knows anything.

H: hey Tae!
T: hey um do you know what happened to lex?
H: yeah I heard she got sent to the hospital again because of Dakota.
T: I seriously gonna kill dakota he's done enough.
H: I'll join in on that I don't like that kid either.
T: I gotta go Haley, bye!"
H:bye!

I walk to the hospital but stop by a ice cream shop first. I see Dakota inside there with a sad look on his face. Then a girl sits at his table and he starts to walk out of the shop. The girl catches up and makes him kiss her. He pulls away and walks away.

What's up with him? He would have no problem making out with that girl any day.

I walk inside and get my ice cream and continue walking to the hospital.

I finally get there and ask for lex's room number.

I walk up to it and see Dakota there holding her hand while they talk.

"Knock knock?" I say

"TAE YOURE HERE!" Lex says.

"LEX WHAT HAPPENED? WHY ARE YOU HERE AGAIN?"

"I'll tell you after I get out of this shit hole. Who told you I was in here?"

"It kinda got around already."

"Really?"

"Yeah."

I take a seat on the other side of her bed and see Dakota still holding her hand.

I give Dakota a confused look and he gives me a little smile.

What's even going on? Yesterday lex and dakota were about to rip each other's heads off and the next they're holding hands?
