Silena's POV.
❃❃❃

I take one step at a time up the ladder, reminding myself to breathe.

But when I reached the top and looked into the dusty attic, I saw red, frizzy hair that looked nothing like our old oracle.

The girl with the red hair heard me, and perked up greeting me with a warm smile.

"Hey, I'm the oracle. Rachel." She extends a hand, and I shake it.

"Hello.. I'm Ina- I mean Silena. Sorry, it's just been so long since I've used my actual name." I say and return her sweet smile.

"Oh it's totally fine, I understand." Rachel says.

We stand in silence for a second, then Rachel picks up the conversation.

"So you're here for a quest, I'm guessing? And you need a prophecy." Rachel tells me.

"Um, yea." I bite my lip in anticipation.

"Okay, it may take a while but once my eyes start glowing green, you'll know it's the oracle of Delphi talking and not me." Rachel explains.

"Ok but-" I'm suddenly cut off when Rachel falls to the ground and green smoke appears.

"Rach-!" I rush to her side but she raises her head, her eyes not glowing green.

"Four heroes will rise,
To see evils demise.

They will go to a land of rain,
And there they will gain.

They will go somewhere far,
Meet someone who is fair.

But in the end, they may fail
Then have to sail

They will end up at the place
Where love was lost and gained

And seek home there.
At least for a while, a place to settle.

And in the end, they will fail to save the one who helped start it all."

Rachel collapses, and coughs out green smoke.

"Wait- who will we meet? What will we lose? WHO will we lose? That can't be the end!" I feel tears welling at my doomed quest.

"I- I'm sorry Silena. I can't tell." Rachel rises from the ground.

I walk over to her and grab her by the shoulders,

"Rachel, tell me what it means!" I shake her, but not hard enough to do damage. "Tell me!"

"I can't Silena." She gives me a glare then turns around.

I feel tears spilling over, and I go back down the ladder.

"Okay, so you need four people on this quest? Piper asks me as she helps fold our cabins laundry.

"Yes. Me and three others." I say.

I had told her part of the prophecy, but not the part where it said we were losing someone.

"Have you decided who?" She asks me.

"Not sure, but definitely Annabeth." I tell her as I put shirts on hangers.

"You should decide soon. You never know when you'll have to lead for the quest." Piper says then leave to put the clothes away.

She seemed a little angry that I hadn't said her name, but I barely knew her.

"Piper?" I ask weakly

"What?" She answers from the other room

I debate telling her, but I stop myself. Maybe if I don't tell anyone, we won't lose anyone.
