Ruhi's POV...
couldn't shake the unease that had settled in after my meeting with Sounak. The next few days passed quietly, but something gnawed at me, a feeling that there were things left unsaid. Every time my phone buzzed, I hoped it would be a message from Sounak, but all I received were the usual notifications-nothing from him. I replayed the evening in my mind, trying to figure out what had been off, but I couldn't put my finger on it.
On Thursday night, I was scrolling through my phone, lost in thought, when something strange happened. A message appeared on the screen, but it wasn't a normal text. It was an anonymous email with no subject. The message was simple but chilling.
"Stay away from the bungalow. This is your last warning."
My heart raced as I stared at the words, my mind immediately flashing back to the old bungalow, the one that had haunted my thoughts ever since the body of that little girl was found. I hadn't been back there since that day with Yuvan, but clearly, someone didn't want her anywhere near it.
Who could have sent this? And why now, months after everything had gone quiet?
I debated calling Ruhan or even Anshi, but something held me back. I didn't want to seem paranoid, and part of her feared they'd think I was overreacting. After all, this could just be a prank. Right?
But deep down, I knew it wasn't. Someone knew I had been to that bungalow, and they didn't want me finding out more.
The next morning, my unease only grew when I bumped into Yuvan at the coffee shop. He was sitting at a table by himself, staring out the window with a contemplative look on his face. I hadn't seen him since their last conversation about the bungalow, and something about his demeanor now made me think he knew more than he had let on.
Ruhi- Hey, Yuvan. Can we talk?
He looked up, surprise flickering across his face.
Yuvan- Sure. What's up?
I sat down, feeling the weight of the pendant around my neck as I took a deep breath.
Ruhi- I got a weird message last night. Someone told me to stay away from the bungalow. Do you know anything about that place?
Yuvan's face tightened slightly, a reaction he tried to mask by taking a sip of his coffee. But I caught it-he knew something.
Yuvan- I told you before, that place has a bad history. It's not a place you want to get involved with.
Ruhi- What kind of history, Yuvan? I need to know. I feel like everything that's been happening is connected to that place-the pendant, the girl who was found, everything. Please, just tell me.
Yuvan hesitated, his eyes darkening as he leaned forward.
Yuvan- You don't understand, Ruhi. That place... it's cursed. People who go there, they don't come back the same. Some don't come back at all.
