"She was quite beautiful, almost as beautiful as you" Peter started off, Scarlet watched him closely pace the room. Straighting pictures and grabbing the pot of hot tea for her and Samuel. "When I saw her I thought she was our goddess but she was different, much more human but also supernatural" Peter took a seat in a brown leather love seat.

"Long dark brown hair, piercing aqua blue eyes, pale skin, wearing only a vibrant purple dress with silver heels. She looked panicked and heartbroken" Peter fiddled with his hands gazing at the coffee table. "What else? Did you see her go to a car, cabin, anything?" Samuel questioned, he grabbed a hold of Scarlets hand giving it a squeeze of reassurance.

"No, I did not see her going to a car or cabin but I did follow her. She had this certain draw to her, I couldn't quite place it but something told me to follow."

"And where did she go" Peter looked at Samuel, then at Scarlet.

"Chicago, I traveled all night to Chicago, by walking, by car and by plane." Peter stood up again, he hand his hands through his hair and began to pace "she met up with a group of men, seven at most but I could smell many more behind me and around me. They were watching, keeping gaurd"

"The male she was talking to looked pissed, like he'd never gotten a break in life. He looked like you, Scarlet but he didn't have the same aura as you do now" Peter sat back down, again fiddling with his hands, he groaned to himself. "I kept watch of her for seven more days before she disappeared one night along with the men. When she left something happened to me, my brain wouldn't function the way it use to. I could hardly focus within fiddling!" He exclaimed tugging at his scalp, Scarlet reached out her hand to his but Samuel stopped her. He shook his head.

"My mental health discreased" Peter again stood up, he restrained pictures, poured a new cup of tea in his cold one then began to tug at his hair. "I'm not getting any better but I don't blame her, it was my fault, the this is. . ." he paused twisting his hands together "she didn't do anything to me, no one did and yet my brain can hardly function after that uneventful week" Peter groaned softly, tugging at his hair for what seemed like the hundredth time to Scarlet.

"Anyways, Chicago's the last place I saw her " Scarlet got up with Samuel, she held out her hand "thank you Peter for the information, you just gave me a new lead on where to find her. Hopefully she only changed housing location and didn't live Chicago" after their last exchange of goodbyes Samuel and Scarlet hoped into their tintied out SUV.

Samuel turned onthe engine and began to drive. "So you know were we're going during the hunt?" Samuel glanced at Scarlet how nodded, her eyes focused on the passing senerty while her hands held onto a drawing of who they suppose was her mother. "Yes, we'll head out to Chicago Illinois this weekend when they begin the hunt. Along the way we'll get information at restraunts and diners that might have info" Scarlet looked down at the picture, the women looked so similar to her that they could be twins.

"She is beautiful Scarlet, you guys look so alike. Your eyes, so unique and raw to kind and your skin, always pale no matter how many times you stay out in the sun. And your gift, Scarlet, she has to know something" Scarlet sighed, she wondered if finding her mother was worth it. To find out why she left her, why she never cane back and why she only left a necklace for her but Scarlet loved secrets, she like the mystery of finding them out. And so she'd keep going at least until she found her mother, confronted her and got the information that she needed. Then and only then will she be able to be at peace with herself.

"I know" Scarlet closed her eyes and let sleep overwhelme her.

When Scarlet woke up she was back in her tent but Samuel was not with her. Sitting up Scarlet let her hands brush against the cold ground, small bits of frost covered it. She sighed watching a small puff of white air drift away.

Closing her eyes Scarlet clenched her fist together when her tent opened. Samuel walked in "you okay?" He asked looking around, as if it were no big deal he sat down on a cover "yes" handing her the box he held Scarlet opened it to reveal dinner. "You were out for awhile, missed dinner and the second introductions. I told your father you didn't get enough sleep last night so you were resting, he didn't pester me with questions after I explained" Scarlet nodded taking the neatly placed fork and dug in.

Samuel had gotten her, her favorite. White rice, grilled chicken thighs, green beans, corn and brittle from the fire when pieces of food fell off and got cooked together. She ate silently, drinking her cup of water every once and awhile "your sweaty and shaking, are you okay Scarlet" Samuel moved closer to her, worry clear on his face. He knew what was wrong, he just wanted her to say.

"I'm fine" she brushed off, Samuel wrapped his arm over her shoulder. Scarlets hands shook as she took a fork full of corn, some pieces fell back in the white box. "Are you sure, we can go out into the woods. No one will be watching?" Scarlet let out a shaky breath, setting the fork down she nodded "okay"

They walked out into the woods. Letting darkness engulf them.
