Leaves crunched under Scarlets weight. Despite the rain it had dried up quickly as soon as the sun came out but the grass was still dewy and the rooftops held raindrops.

After talking to Naomi, Scarlet decided to go for a walk. She hadn't went for a walk in years and she thought this would be the best time to know what changed in the pack. Building that use to be were now torn down, houses were spread even more apart and the town added on what they loos.

More old fashioned style building just with different owners. All in all it wasn't that different, they just switched the places of some building and moved them closer. Scarlet made a metal note to ask Xavier why they'd done that.

Taking a left Scarlet hummed a song she sang Rakesh to sleep with, it was a soft lullaby that she liked. She often caught herself singing it instead of humming. Scarlet entered a field, the field looked just like she remembered it. Large, tamed and clean. Her and Mary would come out her during the summer and cut the grass, picking up any trash they saw. This was Scarlets hide out after all. She showed Samuel it when they got serious but other than that she, Mary and Samuel were the only ones who knew.

She believed at one point that her parents and Xavier knew but if they did, they never bothered her.

Scarlet spotted a black body like figure laying in the middle of the field. She frowned, squinting her eyes to see but her vision became blurry. Instead she sniffed the air, it smelt familiar. Scarlets frowned deepened her steps were slow and steady going towards the figure laying on his stomach.

She pushed through the uneven parts of the grass before it cleared out around him. Scarlet stopped "sa-" she broke out, reaching down with shaky hands Scarlet rolled the familiar body over and caught a glimpse of who he was. Long hair, beard, pale skin, flannel shirt and ripped at the knee jeans. "Samuel" Scarlet whispered brokenly.

She touched his forehead, then caressed his skin, he was as cold as ice.

She screamed, loud waves of ice zoomed through the field freezing everything in sight. Scarlet dropped to her knees, her hair becoming a pure white color instead of brown like it use to be. She screamed again, cried again, frozen tears dripping from her eyes and onto her once lover.

Shuffling could be heard next to her, two groups of people making their way closer. Scarlets mother came in from in front of her while Xavier and his pack came in from beside her. They stopped where the ice stopped, murmurs feeling the field. Jenna pushed past the crowd along with Liam, Russell and Noah, they looked at the sight before them.

"Samuel" Jenna whispered, her eyes flickered to Scarlet. Rage could be seen clearly in anyone's eyes that Scarlet was pissed. Her mother smiled to herself.

Xavier stepped out from the grass and onto the thick sheet of ice, pieces of it stuck up like crystals growing from the grown radiating cold steam.

"Scarlet" Xavier made his way over to her, when he got close enoight Scarlet stood "wha-" she fainted.

Holding a cold Scarlet Xavier looked her up and down. Her skin was cold as ice like the one surrounding her, her hair turned pure white. It was like something off of The Huntsman when the women lost her baby.

Xavier looked at her mother who quickly wiped the smile from her face and replaced it with a concern expression. Xavier frowned as she walked closer, her steps like grace against the ice that everyone tried to walk on but only slipped. A little girl clung to her dress behind her, she hide half of her body behind Cliona.

"My dear Scarlet what happened!" She exclaimed running a hair through Scarlets hair. "Is she going to be okay?" Though she sounded like she cared Xavier's met many fake people in his years of disappearance and could spot it easily. It was like Scarlet acted when she stated she wanted to mate.

He felt she wanted to but he also felt that she had to and so he couldn't trust her. No Luna has to mate with their Alpha within the seven years given to them, it's not mandatory but without it their pack will go crazy. There were some cases where the Alpha gave up his pack because he didn't want to mate his Luna and she didn't want to mate him. It happened every century or so and maybe this century would be theirs.

"Someone call the pack doctor!" Xavier snapped.

Hours later and Scarlet laid in a hospital bed with crisp white sheets matching her skin and hair. The pack doctor said there was nothing seriously wrong with her except her energy being drained and small signs of poison in her blood system. They said they couldn't know for sure until the reports came back.

Cliona stayed by her side silently listening to the doctor speak to Xavier while the rest of the pack made get will soon cards and baskets.

After another hour of waiting Cliona stood up "I'm going home to shower and eat, I'll be back soon" Rushika stood up with her "come along" Cliona left the room but Rushika stood in her place. Xavier frowned at her, his eyes going back to Scarlet but snapped back to Rushika when a tiny cold hand wrapped halfway around his wrist.

"Listen" Rushika creaked out "the posion, it wasn't by mistake" Rushika looked at the door "I don't have much time to explain but keep Scarlet away from Cliona"

"RUSHIKA!" yelled Cliona, Rushika stiffened "please do as I say, keep her in the pack house until the full moon, don't mate her!" Cliona appeared at the door, wrinkles showing her anger.

"Rushika!" She hissed "get here right this instant!" Rushika rushed to her side, her mouth closed shut and head bowed "did she say anything to you?" Cliona looked at Xavier who glanced between the two before shaking his head.

"Good" was Cliona's reply.
