Scarlet made it back to camp just in time before dinner and the hunt began. She walked over to Samuel, Jenna, Liam and the rest who were supporting her. Asia spoke up "I know you've changed your plans, that your not going on the hunt, so I've decided to stay with your parents at the pack house to make sure they don't become suspicious when you don't show up at the finish line."

"They'll expect you to be one of the first to show up, I'll assure them for as long as possible with Marcus, all I need is for you to show up as fast as you can." Marcus nodded beside her, Asia gave Scarlet her iPad showing a route of the woods and where the finish line should be.

"Since your heading to Chicago which is way off route from the finish line, I've created a new route. One that you can easily follow with complications from humans, rogues on the other hand are what you guys might run into" Scarlet leaned forward "what do you mean" Asia took the iPad and zoomed in on the map.

"Here," she handed it back to Scarlet, pointing to certain locations that they'll have to cross. "Those routes are are known for rogue inhabitation, the red dots you see glowing hold ever two hundred. You'll have you get past four bases before your free of rogues, it'll take some time and lots of work but I think you can make it back" Scarlet looked over the map she counted seventeen spots lined across the four routes Asia made. The route with the least amount of rogues would take them longer to reach the finish line but the one with the most would take them a day or so.

Scarlet nodded at the screen "good, the events should be starting soon. I need to pack up and head to see my father" instead of seeing her father Scarlet made her way back to her tent with Samuel trailing behind.

She zipped the tent door shut before pulling out a backpack, handing the biggest to Samuel she began to pack her clothes. "You sure about this?" Samuel asked after minutes of silence, Scarlet turned to him "hm?" She hummed. Samuel continued to pack before answering.

"Leaving, are you sure about leaving" Scarlet sighed and dropped the clothes she had in her hands. Sitting in front of Samuel she shrugged, her eyes on the prickles of grass. "No" she replied "but I'm sure that I'd like to know who my real parents are and why they left me in such a hurry, Samuel, I wasn't even a year old. Merely a couple months old, still a newborn and they left me" Samuel's arms wrapped around Scarlet in a secure embrace.

After a brief couple of silent seconds Samuel let Scarlet go. "You are an amazing person Scarlet and anyone can see that you were clearly meant to rule" Scarlet blushed.

An hour later and after scarlet's fathers speech every three hundred groups were spread out around the border of the forest. It was deadly silent.

Scarlets father had given everyone an okay as to heading into the forest but no one wanted to go in first. It was dark, dence and crowded with unknown creatures they'd have to face off and many of them knew that they could possible die or at least not walk out unscathed. Last year a 26 year old man was the first to run through the woods but was the seventeenth to walk out, his arm ripped clean from it's socket not a day after he hid away.

Scarlet watched him go through painful surgery and some therapy before he got a knew mechanical arm from one of their experimental machines.

It worked out, he survived but secluded himself away with no contact to the outside world. Now in days many walk past his house and remember the words he spoke, the words he yelled. Scarlet could still remember them.

"Monsters!" He yelled "there are monsters unknown to the world around us and they will stop at nothing to get what they want" Scarlets father pushed her behind him.

"And what do they want?"

"A child"
