"Run" that one word had Scarlet, Jenna, Samuel and Liam running into the words at high speed. She jumped over lodges, sharp sticks, ducked under low hanging tree branches and avoided any animal that could hurt them.
People trailed after her, some as fast and some slower. Scarlet glanced to her left. A row of wolves already shifted or still in human form broke off and ran west, to the right of her they did the same. Scarled looked behind her, Samuel and Liam where tail and tail while Jenna ran a little slower.
She picked up her speed. Her mind dead set on following the faint scent of human life. Having a better sense of hearing, smelling, taste and touch has come in handy to Scarlet. Whenever her father or mother wouldn't include her into meetings all she had to do was zone into their voices, she has yet to tell her parents hoping that they wouldn't freak out. Her walls are sound proof to be exact.
During midnight, though, she was able to spell everything. From the fresh cut grass to the deers hundreds of miles away. Jenna always thought it was because of her being asleep, Scarlet agreed of her theory because they both knew that when your asleep you have no control over your body. They tested the theory. They were wrong.
"Scarlet!" Jenna yelled, Scarlet turned to Jenna who had made it to her side, the men stayed in the back. "What?" Scarlet questioned over the blaring wind. "Liam said theirs a pack of rogues up ahead, turn right to avoid them" Scarlet made a sharp right, barely missing a large hundred year old tree.
"Close call" she muttered to herself. Scarlet headed straight, making sure the scent of rogues stayed clear of her path. Rogues smelt horrible, like rottening flesh and molding pizza. Some rogues were good and smelt only of fresh air but others, though who were cast out, held an unbearable scent. Similar to death.
It didn't take long for them to feel tired limps give way. Samuel suggested they should sleep in a small field half way to a human town, from there Liam would handle wood and food while Samuel set up camp and Scarlet and Jenna would pick berries. Quickly their campsite was up and running, Liam fueled the fire by keeping smoke from lifting into the air, Jenna found a variety of wild berries while Scarlet washed them off in a makeshift pound she made from the water Liam gathered up.
She picked, cleaned and tore the berries from the non-edible parts before loading them up into a small basket and heading back to camp.
Samuel worked on the last tent.
"Where's Russell?" Scarlet noticed, her eyes ran over the three people standing in front of her. Liam tended to the fire, Jenna cut into the deer Liam caught before setting them on flat plates of rocks over the fire. They sizzle silently. "I thought you knew," Liam started off "he's trailing behind us. He'll be in the dark for the next couple of hours until we reach a town" Scarlet set the fruits beside Jenna. "Why?" Liam shrugged, Samuel answered her question.
"To watch out and knock out any threat coming our way. He really wants to be your Beta Scarlet" Scarlet smiled softly to herself. Russell has been begging to be her Beta or at least Gamma when she got her own pack. Russell wanted them to see-through his playfulness and caught as what he wanted to be, in charge.
But Scarlet had Samuel as her Beta and Liam was coming in at a close Gamma. Russell hated it but agreed, though from time to time he shows her that he can take care of his group. And that's what Scarlet loved the most. "He also caught a sweet scent on his way over to us. He's going to check it out tonight" Scarlet nodded, sitting down on the lodge next to Jenna. She bumped shoulders with her.
"You seem so serious" Scarlet joked, Jenna gave her a side glance, her lops curling into a low smile. "I'm trying to cook with the given resources and there ain't much to go by. I was thinking we could have a berry and herbal deer but then again we could have deer steak with a berry and herbal salad" Jenna reached into her pouch to bring out a bottle of what Scarlet recognized as Italian salad dressing.
She laughed.
"Out of all the things you could have packed, you packed SALAD DRESSING!" Scarlet howled with joy. Jenna was a unique and rare creature, she'd choose salad dressing over clothes. Laim took the bottle, his face scrunching up from her choice. "You could have at least gotten regular ranch if you were giving up space in your bag for dressing!" Liam watched Jenna snatch the bottle away with a hiss.
"You know nothing about dressing!" Jenna argued, from there on they got in a heated conversation about which dressing was the best. Both agreed with Caesar's dressing in the end.
S
amuel made it to the group just before dinner was served, Scarlet hands out the ceramic plates she brought with her and piled her dinner onto her plate. She ate next to Samuel, talking soft chit chat to him and the rest of the group. "This taste. . ." Samuel started off, Jenna turned to him with a glare but instead of speaking nice words he ended up with, "bland" Jenna attacked him.
Her fist went to his jaw fist, the connected to his ribs to which Samuel laughed at. Jenna was much to petit for her to do any damage to him, Scarlet was the same way but she's had years of training and her rank in his pack was higher than his. Giving her the same strength as his and higher.
Jenna pulled back, her body straddled Samuel as her chest heaved up and down. Jenna blushed.
Scarlet noticed Samuel's eyes staring at Jenna's heaving chest but brushed away her unwanted thoughts. She held out her hand for Jenna to take. "I think that's enough excitement for one might, me and Samuel are headed to bed" Scarlet grabbed a hold of Samuel's hand after steadung Jenna "goodnight" were her last words.

Author's Note:
I know, I know, pretty short chapter and I had hoped for it to be longer but it seemed like a pretty good place to stop off at.
Plus, I was washing my hair while writing this, so ya gotta give me props!
