Chapter 9 ✔

"Scarlet, breakfast is being served" Scarlet woke up on the day of Friday, when The Hunt would offecailly be held.

Jenned walked out of Scarlets tent as Scarlet covered a naked Samuel. She dressed quickly before heading to breakfast with Jenna "you guys seem to be doing fine" jenna commented, Scarlet glanced her way "yes, we are" Jenna nodded keeping her eyes on the duffet in front of her.

"Are you having any pains with the mate bond? I've been noticing Xavier walking around your tent at night, watching and listening to the two of you" Scarlets gripp tightened on her plate, she clenched her teeth together. She didn't want to admit that her sexual drive has increased since she found of Xavier was her mate. It was too embarrassing.

Scarlet plated an omelet before taking a spoonful of fruit.

"No pain for me, I'm guessing he's the only one effected because he's had time to grow into the bond" Scarlet grabbed a second plate and began filling it with Samuel's favorite. Meat, meat and more meat.

"Okay" Jenna walked to a table situated closer to the woods while Scarlet headed back to her tent to see Samuel yawning.

"Hey" she greeted "hey yourself" he have Scarlet a peak on her lips before grabbing the plate. "Breakfast?" She nodded sitting next to him.

"I've got word from Jenna that at seven every contestant will meet in the middle of the field at seven. From there own they'll let us free, before then they're offering free self defense training for anyone who thinks they might need it. I was thinking we could help train?" Samuel took a bite of sausage length covered in syrup.

"Huh. . ." He chewed "what time?"

"Twenty minutes after breakfast, at seven thirty" he nodded "okay" with that they ate in silent.

"I want you to focus, leave all worries and distractions behind you and focus on what you want to happen" Scarlet moved forward, her arms binding into a self defense position. "Let your body move with your brain, let them control your actions" she moved again, her body moving swiftly through the harsh air.

"Many of us try to control our movements by force, we never let it think for us. That's what you'll need to know, it's almost like yoga. You let your body relax and follow the movements along with you, taekwondo is similar" Scarlet stepped back, letting her arms drop to the side. "Keep going for ten more minutes, afterwards Samuel will help you with your mind and body orantion in fighting" Moving over to the next group Scarlet spent the next hour showing them ways to let their body control their actions while Samuel helped them switch them back to controlling their bodies and working with their mind.

It was a simple course, anyone could take them before they move on to learning fighting styles.

Finally they took a break after four long hours of teaching.

Scarlet gulped down a bottle of ice cold water "how was your session?" Jenna walked over, Scarlet sat her bottle of water down. "Good, their learning how to let their bodies control themselves but some of them are to cocky and think my training is stupid" Jenna shook her head "well they're learning from the best" both chuckled softly.

Jenna was right, Scarlet and a couple of other chosen were able to go to Japan and train with professionals for seven months. Scarlet learned at lot for four months, then the next three months she got into fighting. When she left she was sad, she left like she belonged there but she went home nonetheless. They told her she needed to adjust to moving around a lot, and adjust she did. Going back home was scary, no one liked her, they'd all made friends and used rumors to ruin newbies lives.

It was then that Scarlet found Liam and Russell, her bat an and Robin Hood. Liam helped her get through her transgression guiding her through her troubles, Russell constantly stole her candy and food for her, making her laugh and feel at home. A year later Scarlet went back to Japan and stayed for another year and a half. She came back and there stood her friends, Liam, Russell, Jenna and Marcus. Samuel had already been with her, he agreed from the beginning that wherever she went, he'd go.

It's when he found his mate. In Japan the second time they visited, he caught a glimpse of her when she a boarded her parents car. He chased after her but it was already to late, a large bus smashed into their buggy, killed them instantly.

It was a hard time in Japan for both of them.

Jenna moved closer to Scarlet, "Xavier's waiting for you by the creak" I sighed "okay, keep Samuel busy, well ya?" Jenna nodded.

Scarlet moved to towards the woods and listened closely for the sound of running water, it didn't take long for her to hear it and walk over.

"What do you want now?" She whined, Xavier turned towards her, his face masked of any emotion. Xavier was use to being stone cold, never worrying about anyone but keeping his pack alive but Scarlet, his little mate seemed to take over his thoughts 24/7. No matter what he did all he could thunk about was Scarlet, and she didn't even want him.

"You already know the answer" he replied calmly "and everyday I hate myself for knowing" Scarlet moved over to the stream, her voice floating around in Xavier's head. He growled "you make me weak!" He almost shouted, Scarlet turned to him with wide eyes "w-what?" She stummered.

"I said you make me weak I can't stand it! Scarlet I can't reject you and find another women to bare my children and be my Luna! Its impossible, our moon goddess made rules Scarlet, rules! and when the rules aren't followed then we get punished. Tell me Scarlet, do you want to get punished" Scarlet looked at the stream, her hands fidgeting with the shirt she wore.

"N-no" she shook her head, her hands subconsciously moving to her stomach. She's always wanted children, that's the one thing the moongoddess knew what effected her. Not being able to have children.

"Then get your act together, I'm going to keep trying Scarlet, whether I'm watching you from afar or have to drag you down with me. We will be together just give in. I can't be weak in front of our pack" he stormed away.

Scarlet's breathing increased until she was panting. Unzipping her pants and stripped of her shirt, Scarlet shifted in a full sprint. Her wolf didn't let her have time to adjust to her new form before quickly taking over and took off into the woods. Dodging fallen trees, jumping over large rocks and weaving through the thick trees they both tried to clear their minds.

Although Scarlets wolf wasn't human and couldn't talk, they did share a bond of some sorts. Her wolf knew exactly what she needed and wanted, they were connected and have been since the beginning of her life. Something no one knew about, not even her parents.
