"Why were you with him?"

"I didn't go visit just him Xavier" standing up Xavier brushed a strand of hair behind Scarlets ear. It seemed like everyone was doing that a lot lately. Was her hair that fascinating?

"Did you fuck him?" Scarlet shook her head, "I'll ask you again, did you fuck him?" Again Scarlet disagreed.

"No! I wouldn't do that, not now, not ever" Xavier nodded doubt clouding his mind "you can feel my heart beat Xavier and you can sense my emotions, it's part of the mate bond. You'd feel pain if I so much as kissed him, so I'll tell you again, I did not kiss nor fuck Samile Rains" Xavier turned away and walked back to his chair.

"What'd you do to your hair" Scarlet blinked at the sudden question, then looked at the small peeks of her hair she could see. Scarlet had a medium length hair colored a mix of light blonde and dark brown."I cut it, the highlights were spontaneous" Xavier nodded.

"You can leave" he spoke softly but Scarlet stayed, she sat in the leather chair Xavier's chosen sat in. "Have you two fucked?" She asked, Xavier looked her over with cold eyes "yes" Scarlet looked to her lap. "I guess I can't judge. I slept with Samuel when I knew you were my mate but if I could go back in time and change it all, I would have but I was still a delinquent and I didn't know what I was giving up" Scarlet sighed running a hair through her hair. If she had to be honest she hated the light strips but she'd tried to dye them once and they came back.

Xavier said nothing.

"Look Xavier," Scarlet looked at him "I don't expect you to forgive me quickly and I don't expect you to want me in the same room as you but I'd like for us to give this a shot. A real shot with no lies, no sneaking around and no leaving. I'd like to mate you in a week or two if you want and maybe even start a family" family, one word and a large meaning. Scarlet couldn't have a family but Xavier didn't need to know that.

"Why did you come back" Xavier ignored her speech, Scarlet huffed "because I wanted yo see you again. Each moon that passes by my longing grows for your arms to be wrapped around me and I know you feel the same. Having that whore in your bed won't satisfy your need, especially now that I'm back" Scarlet touched her collar, a small smile gracing her lips "now that I have your collar around my neck those females will know your mine just as I am yours" standing up she headed to the door. "You can resist me Xavier, I tried it already and look where I ended up."

"I think I got him to believe me" Scarlet cheered, Cliona gave a bright smile shutting the old book she was reading. "Thats good and are you going to mate him before the next full moon?" she nodded her head frantically "maybe in a week or two, it gives us enough time to scope out the pack, pick who we want and complete what we came here for" Rushika appeard in the doorway.

"I don't want to do this" she whispered softly, both women's eyes snapped to hers. Cliona's showing rage "you have too!" She hissed "Scarlet is doing her part now you do yours! Sit still and look pretty you insolent little brat!" Scarlet took a step back, her eyes dropping to the ground. She felt the need to defend Rushika - she was the one to name her after all - but her body willed her to stay put. "But we're hurting a lot of people!" Rushika argued, Cliona stood up to her full height, fire radiating off of her.

"I don't care, this kind could burn for all I care as long as you're were you're suppose to be and Scarlets is by my side, we will be find" Cliona had up two cups of steaming tea. She gave each of them one "now drink" and they did, without question they did because if they didn't they new something bad would happen.

Like Scarlet had predicted a storm raged on my sunset, the loud pitter patter of the rain soothed Rushika to bed. Scarlet stood over her, a sad smile on her lips. "I never wanted this life for you" she whispered, taking a strand of dark hair between her fingers she twirled it.

"I want you to have a good life, one where you go to school and make friends but their is nothing I can do against mother. She won't let us go until she's dead" Rushika opened her mouth to reply "then kill her" the cold hard truth Scarlet wanted so desperately to do but couldn't.

"I can't, whatever she's using to control us could be in anything. Our food, drinks, medicine, clothes and I can't max out everything without her getting suspicious. Rushika," Scarlet paused "there will be a time when I try to kill her, hopefully before the full moon but if not, you'll have to complete the process" she took in a deep breath, "your going to have to die."

Scarlet watched Rushika sleep peacefully, the little girl didn't deserve the life handed down to her. She deserved a normal life with normal people of her kind and it surely wasn't here. But Cliona was dead set on showing everyone the truth, she wanted everyone to see what she saw whether that meant taking a girls life by force or not, she was going to do it.

Scarlet walked over to her room quietly, the conversations of today playing in her head on repeat. Xavier, Samuel, Jenna, Cliona all four of them clouded her thoughts in a haze of confusion. If Scarlet is just able to get up early in the morning, eat the food she cooks and wear the clothes she buys then maybe she'd be able to kill Cliona but Cliona was like a snake. She was everywhere and nowhere, she could hear Scarlet in the noises of nights and slept with her eyes open.

Scarlet often wondered what went wrong in Cliona's life to make a party goer toxic.

Scarlet showered, lotioned and dressed in the new night gown she bought only an hour ago. Cliona didn't know about it and she doesn't need to. Scarlet didn't want to hurt anyone, let alone the man she loved.

Laying in her bed, eyes wide open, Scarlet fought of darkness that threatened to surround her.

Both figuratively and mentally.
