— Jungwon's POV —
I sighed deeply, looking at my test paper. Why don't I understand one of the questions? I looked at Jia, seeing her annoying slightly smirking face. I bet she understood the question.
I'm actually quite surprised that Jia got detention. She usually sleeps in class, I don't know why.
"Hey, do you guys have any idea on why Jia sleeps in class everyday?" I asked my friends at lunch time.
Riki shrugged. "I mean, she's probably just bored. You know, since she knows the lessons well already, and doesn't need any more lessons. Unlike you-"
Sunoo cut him off, thankfully. "Ooh~ Does Jungwon have a crush?" He teased.
I rolled my eyes. "Jia? No. She probably has a crush on me." I proudly announced.
"Nah, she has a crush." Riki replied. "And it's not you."
I raised an eyebrow, weirdly feeling a bit irritated. "Who is it?" Actually I really regret the tone I said that in. Both boys smirked at me.
"He's Australian. Jia's coworker at her part-time job here. His name is Jake! Or in Korean, Jaeyun." Sunoo informed me, smiling. "Why did you talk in that tone?"
I was a bit taken aback. "Uhh, umm. She doesn't deserve to be treated that well." I stuttered, not really meaning what I said.
Riki frowned. "She deserves to be treated well! Jia actually- Oh wait! I'm not supposed to speak a word of that." He muttered the end to himself, but loud enough for me to catch.
"What was that?" I asked, although I heard it.
He shook his head, poking the slice of apple with his fork in a bored matter. "Nothing. Nothing important to you."
Jia's POV
I smiled as Jake spoke to a little girl, bending down to give her a lollipop. He got up and looked at me.
"I wish I had a little sister." I commented.
He shrugged. "Me too. I'm an only child, like you!"
"Yeah. Anyways, do we close the shop now? The little girl and her mom just left. And it's late." I said, checking my phone screen.
"Sarang. Her name is Sarang. And yeah, I think we should close now. Where's Aera?" Jake asked.
"She's in the bathroom." I paused. "For too long. I'll go check on her." Jake nodded as I walked into the staff's area and knocked on the bathroom door.
"Unnie? You okay there?"
I heard a groan as I received a text message.
Aera Unnie:)
: cramps
: can you get me a hot compress?
"Sure Unnie, anything else?"
: painkillers maybe?
: and a napkin
"On it!"
I grabbed all the materials she needed and knocked on the door. "I got your stuff,"
The door opened slightly as I handed her the things. A few minutes later Aera emerged from behind the door as she sighed.
"I hate my period." She muttered. I sighed sympathetically.
"How are you? Do you want me to go with you on the bus?"
Aera looked at me, confused. "It's already 1 a.m. You have school at seven. I'll be okay, go and rest." She assured me, smiling warmly.
