"You're coming!?" Jia yelped in surprise with the news over the phone.

"Mhm. Just me though."

"It's fine, you're my favorite brother, don't tell Jay oppa." Jia smiled, a bit jokingly.

Sunghoon laughed. "Anyways, how was Jungwon? Did he take care of you? I paid him."

Jia frowned. "You payed him? He doesn't need anymore money."

"Nah, I'm kidding. He didn't accept the money. He said he would take care of you. Did he?"

The girl pursed her lips, then sighed. "Well, yeah. I guess."

"He better. He didn't do anything to you, did he? If he did I'm gonna hunt him down." Sunghoon added, a little seriously.

Jia giggled. "Don't worry, he didn't, and he wouldn't. He's my rival and he's a bully sometimes, but that doesn't mean he wasn't raised with manners."

"Aigoo. I didn't expect my little sister to have such serious rivalry." Sunghoon chuckled.

"Yah. Stop acting like an old man!" Jia scolded him despite her small smile. Sunghoon laughed. "It doesn't suit you. You're too young for that." She added.

"Fine. Anyways, I have to work now. Call me anytime, whenever you need something. By the way, did hyung give you the cash?"

"Yeah. Bye, see you tomorrow! I'm ending the call." Jia said.

"Bye Princess."

— Jia's POV —

I sighed, opening the cafe door. Right when I walked in, an excited Aera ran to me. "Jia!"

"Hi unnie! What's up?" I asked.

"Guess what!? I got together with Jake!" She shrieked in happiness. My smile slightly faded as I felt a tear threaten to roll down my cheek. I quickly wiped it away.

"T-that's great! I'm happy for you two. Take care of him, and make sure he takes care of you. If he hurts you, I'll murder him." I joked in pain.

Aera laughed happily. "Well of course, it's thanks to your help! I'll take care of him! Anyways, did you know we have a day off today, because school break isn't over yet. Sir is so nice these days. See ya around! I have to hurry to a date!" The girl beamed happily, rushing out the door.

I smiled painfully. Once she was out of sight, I breathed in sharply as I turned to the door as well, heading out after I closed the lights.

It didn't seem to sink in yet until I was at the playground, sat on a swing, scrolling on Instagram.

I came across a post of Aera. It was Jake sweetly kissing her on the lips as she was beaming. I let out a quiet pained sob as a tear dropped down to my phone screen.

Of course, I'm happy for her. But it just felt like someone broke my heart in half and smashed one half. It felt like I've been betrayed by the both of my close friends. Not her fault, I didn't try anyways. She deserves him, and he deserves her.

Sooner or later, I found myself full on ugly-crying. Tears falling nonstop down my cheeks. My bare face was wet with tears. I was sobbing alone in a nearly empty academy, deserted playground. Why does such bad things have to keep happening to me? I narrowly avoided death, and now I'm heartbroken.

"Jia-ah, a-are you okay?"

A soft voice rang through my sobs as I looked up, the heavy crying disorienting my vision. I let out a weaker sob as I felt an arm wrap around me, soothingly rubbing my back.
