Chapter 20 - Back to everyday life

Shawn's POV

Now that Anna is out of bed and eating again, I only feel a little bad about leaving her. I have to go back on tour, luckily I will see her soon because we will meet in Italy for the EMA's, normally the EMA's are held in London but this year they switched it up.

"Oh are you sure you have to go, I really have enjoyed having you here," Anna says hugging me, I hug her back she still is not back to her normal size yet but she is getting there. "I know darling I have really enjoyed being back" I say kissing her head.

We land in Los Angeles where I have my first concert back. "Are you ready for this?" Andrew asks hugging me, I take a deep breath and nod. Before my concert today I have to go on The Late Late Show with James Corden, I am a little scared about being this is my first interview back. Anna and I decided we are not ready to tell the world what happened, no one even knew we were pregnant, so it would be a long story. It will air tonight since it is not a live show, therefore I can make the tapings before the concert.

"Shawn welcome back" James says as I sit on the couch, "thank you it's nice to be back" I say and nod to the crowd thanking them as well. "So you recently postponed part of your American tour after you last Toronto show, can you tell us why that was?" he asks, I knew this was coming. "I cannot say anything else right now, other than it was personal reasons" I say and he nods, "well some fans saw you coming out of the hospital a couple of days after your show, are you alright?" he asks and I nod. "Yeah I am alright, and everyone else is alright now as well, but honestly I am not ready to talk about it yet" I say and he nods. "So how is your relationship going?" he asks, I smile "perfect, Anna is the love of my life... She truly makes me a better person and I have really enjoyed having her with me on tour over the summer" I say and James smiles, "that is good to hear, and what about the future, are you keeping the long distance or what is going to happen" he asks. "Actually she moved in with me this summer, so we are currently living together," I say and the crowd goes wild, "Any wedding in sight" James asks and I blush while the crowd screams louder. "Well not currently but maybe someday" I say while the crowd screams, I look at Andrew and he is smiling more than I have ever seen before. After this, we talk about my music and concerts.

At my Q&A before the show a couple of fans asked about me postponing the show as well but I did not answer those questions.

Anna's POV

Today I am starting my new job, and I am so excited. Even though I am nervous, I kind of know the drill at my work place. When I enter the office building, all of my old colleagues are standing ready to greet me. After greeting everyone I walk to my boss' office and knock on the door, "come in", I walk into his office and he briefs me for about an hour, I sign my contract and then the secretary walks in to show me my temporary desk.

I sit at my desk, looking out into the nature. There is a huge stack of books on my table because I have to "study" some of the Canadian law I did not learn I law school in Denmark. This means I have another month before I can actually do my work here. My desk here in temporary because I get my own office as soon as I am done "studying", but there is more quiet here than in the offices. I snap a quick photo and post it to my Instagram.

I walk out of the building and get into Shawn's car. Shawn insists I use his car while he is touring, I have never been excited about driving in such a big city with so much traffic, but it is easier for me than taking the bus. Karen invited me for dinner today so I drive there right after work.

"Hello" Karen says as she picks up the phone, "Hi Karen I am just calling to say I am going to be late, there has been an accident on the highway and the traffic is completely standing still" I say. "It's okay please call me when the traffic starts up again, I will wait to start dinner till you call again" she says. We talk a little more before I hang up. I hold still for another 30 minutes, before the traffic slowly starts again, when I am finally up to a reasonable speed on the highway I call Karen.

As I drive into the highway I see Mateo, walk out of his car. I greet him and we walk into the house together. "We're here," he yells and they all come out into the hallway to greet us.

Aaliyah and Mateo left the dining table, now I am left alone with Karen and Manny and truly, I do not mind. "Anna how are you feeling?" Karen asks, while Manny gets up to do the dishes. "I am fine," I say nodding, while Karen tilts her head "and with Shawn gone too?" Manny chimes in, "well you know it is always hard with him being away, but at least I have work now that can keep me busy" I say and they nod. "We just want you to know that we are here for you if you ever need anything," Karen says and I nod, "I know" I say trying to hold back tears. "You do look better now" Karen says and I smile, she is referring to when I got back from the hospital I lost quite a bit of weight but I have started gaining this weight again, honestly I lost so much I looked unhealthy so now I am starting to look more healthy. We talk a little longer before I say goodbye to them all and drive home.
