"Asphodel. The place where the mindless roam in search of happiness that they'll never get." Flynn stares at the soulless skeleton.
"This is the next worst place you can go in death. You are neither remembered nor forgotten. You, Flynn Eternalis, will rot here for the rest of time. Just like that old bag of wrinkles behind you."
"Eternalis? Who is that?" Flynn takes a few steps back and bumps into the old man.
"He was once a great warrior. Fought for Olympus in their dire time of need. He gave his life fighting for a woman he could never have. Foolish man." Desmos plants a firm hand on Flynn's shoulders. "Then his final mistake was abandoning the one person who needed him most." He moves Flynn's head down towards the small silhouette.
"Marra Eternalis." Desmos leans close to Flynns ear, "Your little sister."
"I don't have one. All I have is my grandpa. You're lying." Flynn spins around to face Desmos.
"I can't lie Flynn. It's my curse." He shakes his head and moves away from the two men. "This man, Oscar Eternalis, is your father and you have a little sister named Marra. You can either take my word for it or don't."
"I don't know what to say." Flynn looks at the room around him. "I don't have time for this. I gotta get out of Asphodel." Without looking back he rushes through metal hallways.
"You can't run Flynn. Once a soul walks through the gates of Asphodel, they never come back out. You're never going home." Desmos' voice echoes through the hallways. Flynn rushes down one hallway and into another.
"I have to find a way out. I have to." He shouts to himself
"You're gonna die here, Flynn Eternalis. Then you'll be forgotten to time." Desmos' maniacal laugh vibrates the walls around him. Not a second later a pipe comes out of nowhere and smacks straight into Flynn's forehead. "You're not the child of Persephone. You're a weak little boy. Go to sleep now and never wake back up."
. . . . .
"You're wrong!" Aphrodite shouts. He glares at the woman he never called his mother. Aphrodite backs up in shock.
"Don't you dare-" Ares cuts her off by placing a hand on her shoulder.
"Leave him be. It's clear that Blake has made his choice." Aphrodite whirls around to face her husband.
"He can't do this! He is MY son!" She cries.
"And OUR son has made his choice. He chose the daughter of Zeus. We can either accept his choice or reject it and be removed from his heart." Aphrodite stares at the two men in shock. She tries to say something then changes her mind.
With a deep breath and a sigh she surrenders. "Fine. I will never like Riley but I suppose you can make your own choices." She looks away from Blake, her gaze filling with sorrow. Blake walks forward and embraces his mother in a hug. The goddess fumbles with her words for a moment.
It's clear he doesn't show much affection. After a moment she finally relaxes and hugs him back. "I just want what's good for you Blake." She whispers, "If that means giving you up to some demi-human then..fine."
"Thank you, Mother." He whispers. Blake pulls away with a gentle smile on his face. The moment his eyes meet Aphrodites, it turns into fear. Her face is gone, nothing but bones. Her head tilts to the side at an abnormal angle.
"Blake? What's wrong?" She asks, blood spilling from her body. Blake backs up and hits his back against something. He turns around, it's his father, also bones for a face and blood covering the rest of him.
"Blake." Ares places two hands on Blake's shoulders. Aphrodite walks closer and closes the space between them, "Blake. Blake!" She shakes him violently. "BLAKE!"-
"Blake!" Aelius shouts while shaking him. Blake jolts up from the ground and crawls back a short distance. His hands are shaking and his gaze quickly meets Aelius'. "Chill! You were having a nightmare!" Aelius grabs his shoulders firmly and looks him over with a worried look in his eyes.
"Sorry..I'm sorry." Blake rubs his sweaty face with his sleeve.
"You alright?" Aelius asks quietly. After a few more deep breaths Blake finally relaxes. His parent's dead faces still in the back of his mind as he stands up and looks around him.
They still gotta look for Aeo, he must have passed out while they were looking. "Yeah, I'm fine. Let's find Aeo."
