"Seek the Lost. The lost can give what needs to be found." A quiet voice whispers. Riley opens her eyes quickly and sits up from her spot on the ground. Blake and Aelius still aren't back and Felix is on the upper levels with the twins and Verace.
There shouldn't be anyone here. Her body tenses as a certain god comes into mind. A sound from the pillar in the middle brings her attention to an old woman, her eyes are glowing a light purple and her hair a light gray.
She looks wrinkled beyond recognition, her lips so chapped and broken, her skin having lost its color and now stays a sickly white.
"Seek the Lost. Seek the lowest pits and find what needs to be lost. The lost cannot be found without being saved. Save the lost and save the found." The woman mutters quickly before disappearing.
The room is empty again. The occasional bird chirping reaching her ears from outside. Riley backs up to the wall, her mind racing with thoughts. "Save the lost and save the found?" She whispers to herself.
"What was that?" She climbs out of bed and stumbles to the door of the temple. It should be getting dark soon. The final two hours of the challenge are coming up quickly.
Riley trails a hand against the wall while she walks up the stairs. The hallway is illuminated in moonlight. The emptiness seems eerie and nerve racking. The only other light is from torches along the walls. All of the halls are decorated with images and words carved into them, much like the center pillar that runs from bottom to the very top of the temple.
"Riley? What are you doing awake?" She jumps, the sudden voice sending goosebumps up her arms. Whipping her head around she faces Felix. He isn't wearing his armor, only the undershirt and his pants. The greatest part about his appearance is his hair; A big floof on his head that looks like it could be a nest for birds.
Riley snickers at the thought and relaxes greatly. Felix is the last person she'd have expected to calm her so quickly.
She raises a brow at the bird's nest and he scoffs. Felix turns his head back to the main room where the twins and Verace are.
"It's not like you look so much better princess," He's right about that, her own outfit is bare of any armor or accessories, leaving her with a plain white button up shirt and a pair of shorts she managed to snatch before the challenge had started.
"Anyways. What are you doing awake?" She glances down at her feet. Honestly, she doesn't know why she got up. It just didn't feel right to go back to sleep.
"I had something happen. I don't know. I just couldn't sleep after." Felix leans against the arched door that connects the stairs to the upper level. He raises a brow and looks her up and down.
He must have seen something he didn't like because his gaze became softer.
"Alright." He mutters and grabs her arm gently. "No need to wake everyone up." He leads her into a separate room that connects to the main one. This one also has an arch for a door but it provides a little more privacy than the main one.
Riley's gaze doesn't leave Felix's as she watches him make a makeshift bed out of supplies he'd brought with. "Sit down." She pauses for a moment, why is Felix being so nice? He looks back at her and sends her the iconic Felix Glare.
She laughs and waves him off before walking to the bed and sitting down. It's comfier than she'd expected it to be.
Felix grabs another bag from the main area and sits in front of her. "Well? What happened?" He sits criss-cross and leans back in it. The torch light flickering in and out, his face getting darker and brighter with it.
