"You actually got him?" A voice whispers in a hushed tone. Flynn groans and rolls onto his side. The cold metal ground beneath him soothing the pounding headache forming at his temple.
"Yeah I got him. The dummy forgot that the light recedes." A snicker echoes off the walls. Flynn pushes himself up, a few rigid's in the metal leaving scratches all over his hands.
"I thought this kid was the child of Hades?" Flynn whips his head towards the voice. It's nothing but darkness. He can barely see his hands in front of his face.
"No. He's the child of that bastard's wife, Persephone." The voices are all around him. "You really think he can open it?" An arm wraps around Flynn's shoulder, "This kid is pretty small and kinda cute." A hand grabs his cheeks and squishes them.
"This kid can talk for himself." Flynn smacks the hand away. "Who are you?" He turns around to face the person only to find darkness. "What happened to the Nightmares?" A loud scoff fills the room.
"They still call us Nightmares?" One voice.
"Well I guess we do look like that filth." A second voice.
"That doesn't matter! We are not monsters!" A third voice.
How many of them are there? Flynn squints his eyes, just barely he can make out the silhouette of five shadows.
"You're the Nightmares? No way. Those things can't be sentient." His voice comes out as a soft whisper. The Nightmares he had seen before weren't capable of speech, only screeching. A shiver glides down his spine at the memory of them.
"And what would YOU know about US, son of Hades?" Violence drips from his tone. Nightmares or not, these guys are dangerous.
"Where are we?" Slowly the darkness is receding. Or more like Flynn's eyes are adjusting to the pitch black. They're in a tall room with four arches and a dome at the top. The four arches go in all four directions. An even darker black on the outside.
"This is our home. The home YOU took from us." The shadowed figures slowly start to come into more detail. There's four men and one female. Their skin is a charcoal black and their eyes a blood red with marks of red, and a few white, across their bodies.
Their clothes are pieces of torn up black fabrics that barely cover anything. The girl has long black hair that goes down her waist and all but one of the boys have short messy black hair. They don't look like Nightmares at all. Besides the dark skin and red eyes of course.
"What are you?" Flynn whispers. One of the males walks towards him, anger in his already terrifying eyes.
"Your parents did this to us and you don't even know who we are?" He grabs Flynns arm and drags him towards the arch. He forces Flynn to face the darkness, holding the back of his shirt tightly so he can't run.
"THIS is our world." The darkness lightens just enough so they can see. There's torn down buildings for miles. Abandoned buildings and thousands more of these little tombs. They're graves. This entire place is a graveyard.
"THIS is what your parents did to our home." He pulls Flynn to face him, pushing him back against the wall of the arch. "We should kill you right now." He growls.
"Don't do anything before Gramps gets here, Vince." One of the other Nightmares steps forward and grabs Vinces arm tightly. "You know how he gets when we don't listen."
"You're such a little puppy." One of the others sneered at him. "Always following grandpa's orders huh?" The woman walks towards the boys and shoves them both away from Flynn with ease. Neither one arguing or pushing back.
