It was a sunny Saturday morning, and Joshua was sitting at the kitchen table sipping his coffee. The apartment was unusually quiet, which meant only one thing: Seokmin was still asleep. Or so Joshua thought.
He took another sip and was just about to start his daily routine when he heard soft, tiny footsteps pattering from the hallway. Joshua turned around just in time to see Seokmin, dressed in his oversized bunny pajamas, his soft brown hair all messed up from sleep.
"Hyungie!" Seokmin called, his voice higher-pitched than usual. Joshua couldn't help but smile.
Joshua put his mug down and opened his arms. "Morning, baby. Did you sleep well?"
Seokmin toddled over, cheeks puffed out in a pout. "Mingyu said he ate all the cookies last night."
Joshua chuckled softly. Of course, Mingyu would do that. "Well, that sounds like something Mingyu would do. But don't worry, we can make more together, okay?"
Seokmin's eyes lit up instantly. "Really? We can make cookies? With chocolate chips?"
Joshua nodded, gently ruffling Seokmin's hair. "Of course. Anything for you."
Just then, the front door opened, and Mingyu and Minghao entered the apartment, each carrying bags of snacks, probably for the movie night they had planned later. Mingyu immediately spotted Seokmin, his eyes narrowing with amusement.
"Oh, here we go again," Mingyu teased, grinning widely. "Seokminnie's in little mode."
Seokmin turned to Mingyu, puffing out his cheeks even more. "Gyuuu!" he whined, stomping one foot, looking like a grumpy little kid. "You ate all the cookies!"
Mingyu chuckled, ruffling Seokmin's hair in that annoying way only a best friend would. "Yah, I was hungry. And you weren't here to stop me."
Minghao just sighed, rolling his eyes as he leaned against the kitchen counter.
Seokmin ignored the banter and tugged at Joshua's sleeve. "Shua hyung, cookies?"
"Alright, alright." Joshua got up from his chair and led Seokmin to the kitchen counter. Mingyu followed, still laughing at Seokmin's overly serious expression as he pulled out ingredients for their baking session.
As Joshua and Seokmin got to work, Seokmin kept bouncing around the kitchen, humming little songs and occasionally poking Joshua's side, asking for more chocolate chips. Every time Seokmin giggled, Mingyu pretended to cringe dramatically.
Minghao, sitting on the couch with his arms crossed, was still unimpressed. "This is chaos. How do you live like this, Joshua?"
Joshua smiled fondly as Seokmin added way too many chocolate chips into the mixing bowl. "Honestly? I wouldn't trade it for anything."
Suddenly, Seokmin turned to Mingyu and pointed accusingly. "Gyu, you better not eat these cookies this time!"
Mingyu threw his hands up in mock surrender. "I promise, I won't touch a single one. Cross my heart."
Seokmin eyed him suspiciously but nodded, satisfied with Mingyu's promise. "Good. Or I'll tell Shua hyung to never let you visit again."
Mingyu gasped dramatically, clutching his chest. "I'm so hurt! You wouldn't do that to me, Seokminnie, right? I'm your favorite hyung!"
Seokmin gave a mischievous little grin and leaned closer to Joshua, who was busy stirring the dough. "Shua hyung is my favorite hyung," he whispered, loud enough for everyone to hear.
Joshua burst out laughing, while Minghao simply shook his head, muttering under his breath, "I can't believe this is my life now."
Once the cookies were baking in the oven, Seokmin happily skipped over to the couch where Minghao was sitting. He plopped down next to him, leaning his head on Minghao's shoulder.
Minghao stiffened slightly, unsure of what to do with a cuddly Seokmin. "Uh, do you need something?"
Seokmin shook his head, his bunny pajama ears flopping with the movement. "Nope. Just wanted to cuddle, Hao."
Mingyu snickered from the kitchen, enjoying the sight of Minghao awkwardly dealing with Seokmin's clinginess.
"Great, just great," Minghao muttered sarcastically. But despite his words, he didn't push Seokmin away, and Joshua caught the faintest hint of a smile on Minghao's face.
Joshua finished up in the kitchen and joined them on the couch, pulling Seokmin into his lap, where the younger boy promptly curled up like a sleepy kitten.
"See?" Joshua said, resting his chin on Seokmin's head. "It's not so bad, right?"
Minghao grumbled something about being "too old for this," but Joshua noticed how relaxed he seemed.
As Seokmin dozed off in Joshua's arms, Mingyu stretched out on the other couch, yawning. "So... movie night later?"
Joshua chuckled, looking down at Seokmin's peaceful face. "Depends if this little one wakes up."
Minghao glanced at Seokmin and then at Joshua. "I give it ten minutes."
Sure enough, within ten minutes, Seokmin popped his head up and rubbed his eyes. "Cookies ready?"
Mingyu and Minghao burst out laughing, and Joshua just smiled. This was his life with Seokmin, and he loved every hilarious, chaotic moment of it.
