Joshua entered their shared apartment with a sense of relief-finally, a break after a long day. As he set his keys down on the kitchen counter, he could hear some soft munching sounds coming from the living room. Instantly suspicious, he called out, "Seokmin? What are you doing?"

There was a pause. Then, from around the corner, Seokmin's familiar voice rang out, way too innocent, "Nothing, Shua hyung!"

Joshua narrowed his eyes. The last time Seokmin had said "nothing," he had chewed up half of a pencil and claimed he was "just testing it."

Joshua followed the sound, rounding the corner into the living room. There, sprawled out on the couch like a content little cat, was Seokmin-his cheeks puffed out as he gnawed on... Joshua blinked. A TV remote.

"Seokmin, why are you chewing on the remote?" Joshua asked, unable to hide the mix of amusement and disbelief in his voice.

Seokmin blinked up at him, remote still in his mouth, before slowly pulling it out with a sheepish grin. "I dunno," he mumbled, looking down at the remote like it was the most fascinating thing in the world. "It felt nice... like, the buttons are squishy?"

Joshua shook his head, running a hand down his face. "Baby, remotes are not for chewing."

Seokmin's face fell, his bottom lip jutting out. "But... it was right there!" he explained, gesturing at the couch cushion like it was the remote's fault. "And I was bored... so... I just... y'know... tried it out?"

Joshua sighed and took the remote from Seokmin, inspecting it. "This poor thing didn't stand a chance," he muttered, noticing a few new bite marks along the edges.

Seokmin shuffled on the couch, hugging one of his plushies. "It's not that bad, right? I could have chewed on something worse."

Joshua raised an eyebrow. "Worse? Like what?"

Seokmin paused, clearly thinking, before his eyes lit up. "Oh! Remember the time I chewed on the charging cable?" he said brightly, like he was proud of this achievement.

Joshua's eyes widened, the memory flashing back vividly. "Seokmin, you fried the cable! You could've electrocuted yourself!"

Seokmin giggled, unbothered. "But I didn't! And it tasted kinda funny."

Joshua sighed deeply, sitting down next to Seokmin on the couch, pulling the plushie out of his hands. "Okay, no more chewing on cables, remotes, or-" he picked up a random object nearby and saw it had a suspicious bite mark on it. "-the table corner?! Seokmin, why?"

Seokmin giggled again, scooting closer to Joshua, clearly unfazed by his boyfriend's growing exasperation. "It was... there."

"That's not a good reason!" Joshua groaned, rubbing his temples. "You're like a teething puppy."

"Am not!" Seokmin pouted, crossing his arms over his chest, his lips forming a little pout. "I'm just... curious."

Joshua sighed again, putting an arm around Seokmin's shoulders. "Fine. But can you promise me you won't chew on random stuff anymore? Or at least ask before you decide to gnaw on furniture?"

Seokmin nodded, leaning into Joshua's side. "Okay, Shua hyung. I'll try."

Joshua wasn't entirely convinced. "You said that last time," he mumbled, though he couldn't help but smile at how adorable Seokmin looked, all snuggled up against him. "You're lucky you're cute."

Seokmin grinned up at him, flashing that sunshine smile that melted Joshua every time. "I know!"

Just as Joshua was beginning to relax, thinking the crisis was over, he heard a faint crunch. He glanced down.

Seokmin had grabbed Joshua's sleeve and... was chewing on it.

"Seokmin!" Joshua yelped, gently pulling his sleeve out of Seokmin's mouth. "My clothes are not for eating!"

Seokmin blinked up at him, wide-eyed, as if he hadn't realized what he was doing. "But... it's soft..." he mumbled, looking at Joshua with those innocent eyes that made it impossible to stay mad.

Joshua sighed again, laughing in defeat. "What am I gonna do with you?"

Seokmin grinned, leaning in to kiss Joshua's cheek. "Love me forever?"

Joshua shook his head but smiled softly. "Yeah, I guess that's the plan."

But deep down, Joshua made a mental note to hide the more chewable items in the apartment. Just in case.
