It was late at night, and the apartment was filled with the peaceful sound of soft breathing. Joshua lay beside Seokmin, his arm draped protectively over his boyfriend, as they slept soundly. The moonlight filtered through the curtains, casting a soft glow over the room.

But Seokmin's sleep was anything but peaceful.

Joshua stirred when he felt Seokmin's body tremble beside him. He glanced over and saw Seokmin's face scrunched up, tears forming at the corners of his eyes. He was mumbling something in his sleep, his voice filled with fear.

Joshua immediately sat up, his heart aching at the sight. "Baby?" he whispered softly, gently shaking Seokmin's shoulder. "Wake up, seokii. It's just a dream."

Seokmin's eyes shot open, wide and filled with panic. His breathing was uneven, and his hands grasped the bedsheets tightly. Joshua could see the fear lingering in his eyes, even though he was now awake.

"Daddy..." Seokmin whimpered, his voice small and shaky. He instinctively reached for Joshua, curling up close to him as tears started to spill down his cheeks.

Joshua's heart broke at the sight. He immediately wrapped his arms around Seokmin, pulling him into his chest. "Shhh, baby, I'm here. Daddy's right here. You're safe," he whispered soothingly, running his fingers through Seokmin's soft hair.

Seokmin buried his face in Joshua's chest, his tiny sobs muffled against the fabric of Joshua's shirt. "It was so scary..." he whimpered, his fingers clutching at Joshua like he was afraid he might disappear. "I thought you were gone... I couldn't find you, Daddy..."

Joshua's arms tightened around Seokmin protectively, his heart aching at the thought of Seokmin feeling that kind of fear, even in a dream. He pressed a kiss to the top of Seokmin's head, his voice soft and comforting. "I'm not going anywhere, baby. I'll always be right here with you, okay? It was just a bad dream."

Seokmin sniffled, looking up at Joshua with tear-filled eyes. "B-but it felt so real... You weren't there, and I was all alone..."

Joshua gently wiped away the tears that were rolling down Seokmin's cheeks, his touch soft and tender. "I know, sweetheart. But you're not alone. I'm right here, and I'll never leave you. I promise." He kissed Seokmin's forehead again, his lips lingering there for a moment as he held him close.

Seokmin nodded, though the tears kept coming. "I'm scared..." he whispered, his voice trembling as he clung tighter to Joshua. "Will you stay close?"

Joshua's heart melted even more at Seokmin's request. "Of course, baby. I'm not going anywhere," he whispered. He gently laid back down, pulling Seokmin with him so that they were lying on the bed again, with Seokmin nestled securely in Joshua's arms.

Joshua shifted slightly so that Seokmin could lay his head on his chest, the steady rhythm of his heartbeat calming the younger boy. He continued to stroke Seokmin's hair, his other hand resting gently on Seokmin's back, rubbing soothing circles to ease his tension.

"You're my brave little one," Joshua whispered, his voice full of love. "Nothing can hurt you when Daddy's here."

Seokmin sniffled again, his fingers clutching at Joshua's shirt as he slowly started to calm down. The warmth of Joshua's body, the steady beat of his heart, and the sound of his soothing voice all worked together to ease the lingering fear from Seokmin's nightmare.

"Daddy?" Seokmin whispered, his voice still soft but a little more stable now.

"Yes, baby?"

"Can you sing for me?" Seokmin asked, his voice small and shy as if he were embarrassed to ask, even though he knew Joshua would never deny him.

Joshua smiled softly, pressing another kiss to Seokmin's head. "Of course, baby. Anything for you."

He began to hum a soft melody, his voice low and comforting, filling the room with warmth. Seokmin relaxed even further, his breathing evening out as he listened to Joshua's gentle singing.

The tension in Seokmin's body slowly began to fade, and soon, he was clinging less tightly to Joshua, his fear melting away with every note of the lullaby Joshua sang for him. Joshua's fingers continued to stroke Seokmin's hair, his touch gentle and loving.

By the time Joshua finished the song, Seokmin's eyes were drooping, the fear from his nightmare a distant memory now that he was safe in Joshua's arms. He let out a small yawn, cuddling even closer to Joshua's chest.

"Feel better now, baby?" Joshua asked softly, his voice full of love as he looked down at Seokmin.

Seokmin nodded sleepily, his eyes half-closed as he snuggled into the warmth of Joshua's embrace. "Mm-hmm... Thank you, Daddy..." he murmured, his voice soft and drowsy.

Joshua smiled, his heart swelling with love for the boy in his arms. "You're welcome, baby. Now go back to sleep. Daddy's right here."

Seokmin let out a content little sigh, his fingers still clutching Joshua's shirt as he drifted back to sleep, feeling safe and loved in his daddy's arms. Joshua stayed awake a little longer, watching over Seokmin, his heart filled with warmth as he held him close.

As Seokmin's breathing evened out, Joshua pressed one last kiss to his forehead and whispered, "I love you, baby."

Seokmin's lips curled into a small smile in his sleep, as if he could hear Joshua even in his dreams.

Joshua smiled too, closing his eyes and settling back into the pillows, knowing that as long as he was by Seokmin's side, his baby would always feel safe and loved.
