Kim Yeon and Min Jae fought side by side, each swing of their weapons bringing down a zombie, but they were vastly outnumbered. The noise of the helicopter had drawn more of the undead, and soon, the two men found themselves surrounded.
"Go that way!" Kim Yeon shouted, pointing to a narrow street.
Min Jae nodded, but before they could regroup, a new wave of zombies blocked their path, forcing the two men to run in opposite directions.
"Yeon!"
Min Jae called out, but his brother-in-law had already disappeared behind a wall of zombies. Gritting his teeth, Min Jae sprinted down a side alley, the undead hot on his heels. His body ached from the endless running and fighting, but his mind was focused on one thing:

After several minutes of running, Min Jae slowed down, his breath coming in ragged gasps.
*breathing heavily*
He glanced around, only to find himself cornered by a sudden horde of zombies.
*gasps*
Their lifeless eyes locked onto him, and he realized there was no way out. He raised his weapon, preparing for a fight he wasn't sure he could win.

His grip tightening on the weapon, he knew he was not much of a fighter.

Just as the first zombie lunged at him, a sharp crack echoed through the air,
*bang* *thud*
Followed by the thud of the zombie dropping to the ground.
Min Jae blinked in surprise, looking up to see a figure emerging from the shadows.
