Chapter 10

Kim Yeon ran through the streets, dodging zombies and trying to control the frantic pounding of his heart.

His mind raced as he thought about where she could have gone.

Where would she go?

His thoughts spiraled as he pushed himself faster, determined to find Han So Hee.

.

As he approached the house they had been staying in, relief washed over him when he saw her coming down from the rooftop.

She was safe

He exhaled sharply, his breath catching in his throat.

..... and She's still here.

Han So Hee noticed him surprised as she reached the bottom of the stairs.

"You're back? What happened? Where's your brother-in-law?

Her voice was cold, distrust clear in her tone.

Kim Yeon took a step toward her, a small smile playing on his lips.

"What's the matter? Are you not happy to see me?"

Han So Hee narrowed her eyes, instantly sensing something different about his behavior.

Why is he smiling like that?

Her instincts kicked in, and she raised her gun, pointing it at him with suspicion.

*Hahaha*

Kim Yeon chuckled, clearly amused by her reaction.

"What? Do I need to get naked again? There's no one else here this time"

She blinked, utterly confused by his nonchalant tone.

What is wrong with him?

Without a word, she spun around and headed back to the rooftop, her mind swirling with thoughts

Did some weird zombie bite him?

Is he infected?

Why is he acting like this?

She couldn't shake the feeling that something was off

Kim Yeon followed her up the stairs, still holding that same relaxed grin

He reached into his bag and pulled out a small bottle of juice that he has been saving for later, drinking some sips of it and offering it to her,

"Here, it tastes good"

Han So Hee eyed the bottle suspiciously, but took it from him.

"What happened? Where's Min Jae?" she repeated, her voice sharp with impatience.

Kim Yeon's smile faltered, but only for a moment.

"He got on the helicopter, But I couldn't make it" he said casually, lying smoothly.

He didn't wanted her to know that he came back for her

"Zombies were coming from every direction, so I had to run away"

She studied his face, unsure whether to believe him.

Why does this feel off?

His behavior, his words—it all seemed strange. But before she could question him further, Kim Yeon spoke again.

"I guess we're both stuck here now," he said with a playful shrug.

Han So Hee rolled her eyes, feeling her frustration boil over.

"Look, if you've got a problem with me, you can leave."

"I was the one who found this place first, so I'll be staying here," she shot back, her tone icy.

Kim Yeon raised his hands in mock surrender.

"No need to get all defensive. We can both stay here."

"But I'll warn you now," he smirked,

"don't fall for me. It could get complicated"

Han So Hee scoffed, turning her back on him as she headed down the stairs.

What a ridiculous, annoying noob.

What does he think he is, some kind of hero? she thought, shaking her head.

Arrogant Man

But despite her annoyance, she felt a strange sense of relief.

Glancing back at him with a small smile on her lips before continuing down the stairs, she thought...

At least I'm not alone anymore
