The moment Snake accepted Gojo’s invite, he got teleported into a creative world. Hybrid noticed the sudden disappearance and looked a bit surprised.
-”Well, there goes the weirdo.” said Hybrid as he shifted around in his spot.
Gojo checked his phone and noticed Snake accepted his invite, but he was nowhere to be seen. All of a sudden, a scream could be heard coming from above, Gojo looked up and noticed Snake falling from the sky.
-”Use your glider!” screamed Gojo at Snake but before he could hear him properly and react, he fell flat on the ground. Gojo looked at where he fell and kneeled.
-”SNAKE!? Geez are you alright?” asked Gojo worried, rolling Snake over, Snake grunted slightly and looked at him, confused.
-”Oh no, my bestie, he’s dead... gone... no longer among us...” said Gojo with a sad, yet slightly dramatic voice. Snake looks at him a bit annoyed.
-”Dude, I’m not dead.” replied Snake, but he was cut off by Gojo’s shush.
-”Shhhh, ghost of my dead bestie... not now...” said Gojo, Snake grunted and pushed his hand away, he sat up and looked at Gojo with his usual nonchalant face. Gojo looked at him with a cheeky smile.
-”Took you long enough to accept my friend request!” said Gojo mockingly, Snake rolled his eyes and stood, he cleared the dust off his clothes.
-”So, what is this place anyway? Looks too vibrant.” asked Snake, looking around, Gojo stood up and chuckled.
-”This is a special Island where those who don’t engage in any games hang around. This is also where we stay for the most part.” replied Gojo, Snake looked around some more and then back at Gojo.
-”Yeah, I see you living in this kind of place.” said Snake, Gojo looked at him and chuckled a bit.
-”Yeah...” replied Gojo and before he could say something, Snake started walking around, analysing his surroundings. Gojo looked at him and followed him around.
-”Are you always this creepy and paranoid?” asked Gojo.
-”Are you always this talkative?” replied Snake, Gojo sighed and grabbed him by his arm, stopping Snake from going any further.
-”Geez, stop acting so stubborn and let me show you around.” said Gojo as he started walking the opposite way of where Snake was walking, Snake sighed and started following him. They got more to the centre of the Island, there was a fountain with a Llama statue, it was surrounded by benches. The centre was crowded by different people. Gojo stopped and looked at Snake.
-”So. This is the centre. The place where everyone decides to hang out.” said Gojo, Snake looked around, noticing the giant Llama statue.
-”Odd place to hang around, if you ask me...” replied Snake.
-”Yeah and I didn’t ask you, now shut up and let me explain how things work here.” said Gojo, Snake looked at him annoyed but decided to stay silent.
-”So. On the left, you can see a building with a circle that has a V on it. That’s our currency, V-bucks. I don’t know why they are like that but they are like that. That’s the bank and the spot where people usually get their “paychecks” you could say.” said Gojo as Snake was looking at the building.
-”Uh-huh, and what can you do with those... “V”-bucks...?” asked Snake.
-”I was just about to tell you... You can buy clothes, different items, pets, gun wraps, even emotes!” said Gojo, Snake looked at him more confused than ever.
-”...Emotes...? How do those even work..?” asked Snake to which Gojo nodded.
-”Yeah! Check this out!” replied Gojo, who checked his phone then immediately started emoting “The Griddy”. Snake looked at him confused and slightly disgusted, Gojo noticed and stopped, chuckling slightly.
-”Not a fan of emotes, huh?” asked Gojo.
-”After that? No, not really...” replied Snake and Gojo bursted out laughing.
-”Oh wait till you see how popular it has gotten...” said Gojo chuckling, Snake grunted.
-”Great… Now, what else is there for me that I need to know about...?” asked Snake.
-”Well, on the right, you have different shops you can go and look through, and, in front of the Llama statue, there is a training arena you can go to.” explained Gojo, as Snake looked around at the mentioned places then back at Gojo.
-”Hm, that’s great, anything else? Maybe a way out of here?” asked Snake, Gojo got close to him and put his arm around his neck and grinned.
-”There’s no way out of this one, buddy.” whispered Gojo as he chuckled, Snake pushed him off and looked at him annoyed.
-”Yeah, really helpful... then I will make myself a way out.” said Snake, ticked off, looking frantically around for a way out.
-”Nah, you won’t.” said Gojo with a grin on his face.
-”And why is that?” asked Snake, looking at Gojo.
-”Because you are with me, I mean, since you accepted my invite and joined my team, you can’t really go off and wonder on your own. Also there’s a party tonight, and I need to invite a few more people…” said Gojo, grabbing Snake by his forearm and dragging him around. Snake let out a frustrated grunt and walked with Gojo to the “Flower Shop” where they met with none other than the fabled, miraculous Doom Slayer.
-”Ey, Slayer! You coming to the party tonight?” said Gojo, the Slayer responding with a grunt, and a nod.
-”Yay! I can’t wait to see you there!” said Gojo joyfully then left the store happily, Snake looked up at the Doom Slayer and vice versa, almost as if they both share the slight frustration of being friends with Gojo, but before Snake could say a word he was once again dragged by Gojo. The Doom Slayer looked at Snake and waved goodbye before returning to arranging the flowers around.
Gojo kept asking people around if they were coming to the party, taking Snake by his forearm like some sort of pet, or how Snake was a little kid dragged around by his mom in the supermarket.
During their walk, Snake asked Gojo:
-”So, how did you come here in the first place? Did you end up in the wrong gateway too?” Gojo stopped walking for a moment, turned around, looked at Snake proudly and said:
-”Me? Never! I was actually invited by Fortnite themselves! Along with my other three students.” Gojo looked up proud.
-”I’m surprised they invited someone as annoying as you.” said Snake.
-”Hey! I’m not annoying! You are, Mr. Serious Secret Solid Snake!” replied Gojo, chuckling. Snake stayed silent and started walking again. Gojo noticed and sighed, he turned around and started walking once again. He checked his phone and noticed all the invites have been finally delivered.
-”Good news bestie, all the invites have been delivered, we can go to the party location!” said Gojo excitedly, looking back at Snake, but he just nodded and kept walking.
They walked to the house in which the party was being held. There were people already there, organising and decorating the place. Gojo rushed to one of the people there.
-”DOOM!” said Gojo joyfully, Snake caught up to him and looked up at DOOM. He looked down at both of them.
-”Hello, Gojo. Took you long enough to come here. And who is that behind you? You got a new friend?” asked DOOM, his voice low and not quite friendly, Snake felt like something was off but pushed it to the back of his head.
-”Oh yeah! This is the guy I told you about! Solid Snake!” said Gojo happily, introducing Snake to DOOM.
-”Snake? Ohh, my dog! What’s up? Ha ha ha!” DOOM extends his arm for a handshake. Snake looks at him skeptical, then shakes his hand. Gojo looked at them happily.
-”How are the preparations going?” asked Gojo, looking at DOOM.
-”Everything is going smoothly, the karaoke place is prepared, we got juices of all sorts, as well as snacks. Omni-Man and Mark are putting the decorations on the ceilings and walls and Mizuki is making special meals.” responded DOOM.
-”Oh that’s great!” Gojo responded before turning around to look at Snake. “Hey! Why don’t you go and meet the gang hm? Maybe help Mizuki or check on Omni and Mark” said Gojo to Snake. Snake looked at home and then spoke again.
-”Where’s the kitchen?” asked Snake.
-”Go through the front door, past the living room and the second door to the right.” responded DOOM. Snake nodded and followed DOOM instructions. Humming could be heard coming from the kitchen. Snake quietly snuck up behind Mizuki, who didn’t notice him.
-”Hey.” whispered Snake, scaring Mizuki off and causing her to instinctively attack him, Snake dodged but still got his forearm cut slightly. He grunted quietly.
-”Oh, truly sorry for my actions. You really scared me back there.” apologised Mizuki. Snake nodded and checked his forearm.
-”Yeah, it’s fine... Do you have anything I could bandage my forearm with?” asked Snake, trying to stop his blood by applying pressure to the wound.
-”Let me check real quick.” said Mizuki, as she searched the cabinets for a first aid kit. Once she found it, she began bandaging Snake’s scar. Snake stood silent, watching carefully.
-”Again, I’m awfully sorry. I just didn’t expect anyone to come by, and usually if they come, I can hear them from miles away since they are all loud and obnoxious.” said Mizuki as she finished bandaging him.
-”Yeah... I can understand why...” responded Snake.
-”Yeah, you must be the new guy Gojo told us about right...? Solid Snake?” asked Mizuki.
-”Snake, for short.” responded Snake, Mizuki nodded.
-”Very well. What brings you here?” asked Mizuki as she resumed to cooking her special snacks.
-”Well Gojo sent me here for some reason… Maybe to keep the preparation plans away from me or something…” said Snake, leaning against the counter and watching Mizuki cook.
-”Ah, it seems like they are really dedicated for this party.” said Mizuki, smiling a bit as she kept cooking.
-”Indeed they are.” responded Snake.
-”I’ll tell you what, Gojo isn’t that much of a bad guy, he can be really sweet and caring, and this is coming from the only woman on the main team...” Snake looked at her then away as Mizuki continued speaking.
-”He often makes sure those around him are safe and comfortable... despite acting all stupid and childish... he is actually sweet.” continued Mizuki, slowly adding condiments to the food.
-”Yeah... but only to women. I can’t really agree with you on our statements.” responded Snake, checking on the recipe what else she needed to add and giving the condiments to her.
-”You’ve seen how he acts with the others, like DOOM. Completely different from how he acts when he’s with you.” said Mizuki. “Okay, go away now, and don’t spoil the surprise food.” Snake nodded and left the kitchen.
He looked behind him one last time where Mizuki was only to bump into DOOM on the hallway.
-”Ah, Snake, didn’t see ya there little guy!” said DOOM.
-”Me neither, big guy.” responded Snake, looking up at him.
-”Actually, I did want to bump into you. How the hell did you manage to stumble upon Gojo, and how did you two even become close friends already!?” asked DOOM, with a skeptical look on his face.
-”He wouldn’t leave me alone. He’s like a social magnet.” responded Snake.
-”That is true, yes, but that doesn’t give you the right to get his attention away from me!” said DOOM in a low voice.
-”Wait… what?-” says Snake, but ultimately gets interrupted by Gojo.
-”HEY GUYS! What’cha talking about?” asked Gojo excitingly, both DOOM and Snake looked at him surprised.
-”Just talking with your new buddy, Snake!” said DOOM nicely, almost as if he had forgotten what he was talking about earlier with Snake.
-”Oh, that’s great! How is the bounding going? Are you two getting along?” asked Gojo, happily and before Snake could say something DOOM interrupted him.
-”Yeah, we are practically best buddies right now! Right, friendo?” said DOOM as he was bumping his elbow against Snake’s arm.
-”Exactly...” said Snake with a slight shiver in his voice.
-”Great! The party should start soon so be nice to those that come around!” said Gojo playfully.
-”Yeah we will be! Don’t even worry about it!” replied DOOM and Snake nodded. Gojo smiled and left them as he went to Omni-Man to welcome the newcomers. Snake looked at him leaving then all of a sudden felt DOOM’s heavy hand on his shoulder.
-”I’m not done with you yet, you are lucky Gojo came in. But for now, why don’t we enjoy this nice party? I’m sure we will have plenty of time later on to discuss things like these.” said DOOM in a low whisper before leaving and heading to the living room. Snake watched him leave, as he went around the house, looking for ways to waste time. Eventually he settles for the darts, practising his aim, somehow getting three bull’s-eyes in a row.
As time passed and more people joined the party, Snake found the Doom Slayer drinking in a corner, so he decided to join him by sitting down next to him and sipping on a cocktail. The Doom Slayer looked at him then back at the party, despite the unsettling silence between them they were both enjoying their time together. Snake was looking around at who was there. He noticed Gojo sneaking around and leaving the party and can’t help but wonder what he might be up to. He quickly chugged the cocktail and set his glass aside, the Doom Slayer watched him leave and follow Gojo.
Snake was keeping a fair distance between him and Gojo, making sure he wouldn't suspect anything as he quietly followed him around. Gojo kept going further and further away from the centre of the island. Eventually getting to a rift. Snake looked at him and the rift confused as Gojo was setting the coordinates of the rift. Snake watched how as soon as Gojo was done he entered the rift, he quickly followed him through the rift. Once Gojo got to the Island he went to a house that could be seen in the far distance. Snake followed him, keeping the previous distance. Eventually they get to the house, Snake proceeded to hide in a nearby bush as Gojo got inside. Snake stood there until Gojo left. He didn’t follow him back, instead he tried to sneak inside the house.
After several failed attempts he gave up and tried to go back to the place where the rift was but it was nowhere to be seen, he grunted frustrated, grabbed his trusty “The Orange” box and hid inside it, settling down right on the “Welcome” mat.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the story, Gojo returned back to the party and started looking around for Snake. DOOM noticed Gojo looking around for something and decided to question him.
-”My my... seems like someone is looking for something...“ said DOOM as he was right behind Gojo, who was chuckling.
-”Yeah I’m looking for Snake, have you seen him anywhere?” asked Gojo as he turned around to face DOOM.
-”Ah... that guy... hmm... I don’t remember where I last saw him, maybe he went out to get some fresh air... He doesn’t seem like the type of guy to party anyway...“ said DOOM slyly.
-”Yeah... Maybe you are right... I will go check right now!” said Gojo, immediately going outside all happy and joyful, DOOM couldn’t help but grunt annoyingly.
Gojo decided to go outside and look for Snake, but he was nowhere to be seen. So, defeated, he goes back inside and goes to DOOM.
-”He isn’t outside either and I swear to Llama I will twist this house upside down if it means find him!” said Gojo revolted to DOOM, who looked at him a bit annoyed but more worried.
Thus Gojo started looking around all over the place and also began questioning the party members. Eventually Gojo stumbled upon the Doom Slayer.
-”Yo! Doom guy! Have you seen my buddy, Snake?” asked Gojo, irritated after countless questionings and no results. The Doom Slayer looked at him.
-”Yes. He followed when you left.” responded the Doom Slayer, quick and dry, downing the 15th beer. Gojo looked surprised then quickly thanked him and rushed back to the rift, where he put the coordinates back for his home and went inside the rift. DOOM looked at Gojo disappointed and slightly annoyed.
When he got there, he noticed a suspicious box, sitting at his front door, with an opening below it.
-”The... Orange...” read Gojo, as he raised the box, inside being none other than Solid Snake himself.
-”Shucks... you ruined my camo- Gojo!?” exclaimed Snake.
-”Snake!? What the hell are you doing here?” replied Gojo, looking at him with a confused look.
-”Hiding... and being safe... I suppose. I have no idea why I’m even here, to be fair.” said Snake quietly.
-”Geez, you scared me, you know that? I thought I lost you there…” said Gojo as he was calming down.
-”Hm... Why do you care so much anyway?” asked Snake.
-”Well I mean you are new here and I need to make sure you are safe.” replied Gojo.
-”And since you’re here, and you have nowhere to stay, how about you stay at my place? We can do plenty of stuff together, and you won’t have to sit in a box!” asked Gojo, excitedly.
-”Sure, I guess.” answered Snake, like he had any other choices.
-”YAAAAAAAAY!!!! It’ll be so fun to stay together!” said Gojo, with the energy of a 5 year old. Snake got out of the box as Gojo opened the front door.
Once inside, Snake looked around amazed at the well organised and fancy house Gojo was living in. It wasn’t as vibrating as he expected it to be but it’s not any better than what he was used to.
-”Make yourself at home!” said Gojo excitedly, as he walked in the living room. Snake followed him and looked around the living room at the sculptures he had around the shelves as well as the books he owned. Whilst Snake wasn’t paying attention Gojo picked up a box and brought it to Snake.
-”Here, you’d need this in the future.” said Gojo, handing him a box. Snake opened the box, inside there was a phone, he looked at it and examined it for a bit.
-”This way you are noted in the database as a guess person. This will give you access to more places as well as currency and what not.” explained Gojo. Snake nodded and started the phone. He checked it for a bit before putting it in his pocket.
-”Thanks.” Snake responded. Gojo looked at him and smiled warmly.
-”Of course! We are buddies after all!” said Gojo.
-”Yeah... I guess we are...“ responded Snake.
-”Well I guess I will head to sleep now.. Don’t stay up too late, who knows what waits ahead of us tomorrow?” said Gojo softly before he went to his room, leaving Snake all by himself in the living room.
-”Yeah... I guess I should get some sleep... but not yet at least...“ said Snake to himself as he was looking out the window.
He sat down on the sofa and used the moon’s rays of light and checked off his own communication devices with which he came. He noticed that he had no signal and he couldn’t really do much. He dismembered his device checking the signal parts and trying to connect them to any potential connection to this Island but to no avail. He sighed and put his device back in place. He looked at it one last time, regretting how a small mistake changed his life forever.
All he can do is wonder about what will happen next. Wondering if he will ever get back to the life he once had, as a partner in crime and a spy in disguise.END OF CHAPTER 1.5
