CHAPTER 3.5

ANOTHER "SNAKE"?

After Solid Snake left for Fortnite, the Metal Gear games seemed to be getting extremely buggy regarding Solid's character model. So, the players started to report these bugs to Kojima himself. Kojima tried to track Snake, but to no avail.

-"...Snake's signal has been lost for the past few months... Something is clearly wrong..." said Kojima, looking at his computer.

-"Well... we have to do something about it, right?" said a white-haired individual.

-"Yes, we do. Solid Snake might be in danger.. Or worse, dead." replied Kojima.

-"Snake isn't dead, I'm sure of it! I mean, I managed to detect a signal coming from a strange place..." said the timid scientist. Kojima looked at the scientist before looking at the white-haired person.

-"Hm... Otacon, send the coordinates to Raiden." replied Kojima. Otacon nodded and immediately sent the coordinates to Raiden's phone.

-"Raiden... we trust you with the mission of bringing Snake back. Be careful out there. If you die, it won't be easy for us to bring you back. Any knowledge you obtain will require you to save, so in case you die, we can revive you with the last knowledge you've saved. Same frequency as always, 140,96." explained Kojima, Raiden nodded.

-"Can I still contact you when I leave?" asked Raiden.

-"I don't think so, no. You will be outside the game, meaning your codec, except for the saving one, will be jammed, unless your codec adapts to the program you are in." explained Kojima.

-"Shit, that can't be good.." murmured Raiden.

-"Yeah.. Anyways, I wish you the best of luck, Raiden. Save thoroughly, you'll definitely need it." said Kojima, before sending Raiden to the game central station. He took out his radar, and followed the coordinates given, until reaching a gate with the name of 'Fortnite'. The radar was beeping.

Raiden sighed, as he looked through the gate.

-"Here goes nothing.." said Raiden, as he went inside the tunnel. He got taken, passing quickly through the in-game scanning. Unlike Snake, he was immediately given access to the Fortnite code, without Hope, or any other admin having to modify it personally.

-"What is.. this..? I feel weird..." said Raiden, as he looked at his arms and down at his body, noticing his game model had been changed to a more defined one. He looked around, no one was to be seen, only a small screen with two options saying 'Battle Royale', 'Solo - no fill' and a large, yellow one saying 'Ready'. Raiden looked at it confused and decided to call Otacon about it.

-"Otacon, do you read me?" asked Raiden, Otacon picked up.

-"Raiden? Yes! I read you, are you in?" asked Otacon.

-"Yes, I am in. Small issue, there's nobody around here.. There's just a ready button for a game of Battle Royale.." explained Raiden.

-"Hmm.. Try to get in a game of Battle Royale and see what happens.." said Otacon.

-"Alright.." replied Raiden, ending the call and pressing the 'Ready' button.

Once he did, he instantly got teleported on the waiting island, he looked around and immediately covered his eyes.

-"Ugh! What's with these blinding colours!?" murmured Raiden as he rubbed his eyes before adjusting to the colours and brightness. He began looking around for Snake, asking the soulless AIs about him, but none of them responded as they began running into a wall. Raiden was avoiding the players, unsure of how they'd react to Raiden being in another game than the one he is supposed to be in.
