CHAPTER 4 - ABSOLUTE DOOM

CHAPTER 4

Absolute DOOM.

The sound of beeps coming from the heart beat monitor was the only thing Snake could hear as he slowly woke up. The beeps sped up as Snake started to remember what last happened. He blinked a few times, clearing his vision, only to then realise he couldn't see the full picture. Snake grunted, then got up, he pulled away all the scanner and IV cables away from his body, slowly making his way to the desk on the opposite side of the room. On the desk ,there were his old clothes, they were full of tears, holes and bloody marks, but he still tried his best to put them on.

Once he finally did, he put on his bandana and looked in the mirror, noticing his missing eye. Snake couldn't help but sigh, feeling a shiver run down his spine, but he didn't waste any more time as he started looking for a way out. He noticed the door was locked so he pulled apart everything in the room until he found a vent, pulling the cover away and sneaking through it.

As he made his way through the vents, Hope finally entered the room.

-"Hey Snake..- WHAT THE [[HYPERLINK BLOCKED]]!?" screamed Hope before pressing the emergency button.

Snake overhead Hope and the alarm continuously ringing, causing his ears to ring, but he didn't stop. He crawled into another room, thankfully, it was empty. Snake watched as the guards rushed down the hallway. Once they were out of his field of vision, he left the room and followed the exit signs.

The place felt like a labyrinth and Snake was struggling to keep himself together with all the bright colours and loud sounds. Fortunately soon enough he found the existing door and made a run for it only to hear a loud shout from behind.

-"THERE HE IS! STOP HIM!" screamed one of the guards as they began rushing after Snake. He looked behind and noticed as they were all rushing straight to him with one person standing out from the other by being faster, it was of course Hope.

-"SNAKE! DON'T TRY TO ESCAPE! IT WILL ONLY DO YOU MORE HARM! YOU NEED TO HEAL!" screamed Hope. Snake ignored her as he kept running. Hope noticed and grunted, grabbing one of the guns from the guards and shooting the door button, causing the door to malfunction and shut down. Snake noticed and started running faster, but in his condition, it didn't make a lot of difference. He eventually escaped by sliding under the door at the right time, leaving Hope on the other side, banging on the door and telling Snake to come back. Snake obviously ignored her and began looking around, everything was a mess. All the merged islands were destroyed and seemed to be in a rebuilding state. DOOM's minions were all around the place and he couldn't help but notice all the new locations.

Snake was once again alone, unsure who to trust and what to do. He tried to contact Monika via Codec, but she didn't answer, so he began walking around, eventually making his way back to Mount Olympus.

The place was completely destroyed and Snake couldn't help but remember everything that went down.

As he was reminiscing, he didn't hear the footsteps.

-"Well, well, well. If it isn't THE Solid Snake." said the familiar voice of none other than Midas. Snake didn't have time to react before Midas placed a hand on his shoulder, stopping him from moving.

-"Truly living up to your name. Bold move to try and show your face again. Did you think I'd forget what you did to me all those weeks ago?" asked Midas. Snake was confused.

-"Weeks? What are you talking about!?" murmured Snake.

-"Yes, Solid Snake. Weeks. Did that twink beat you so good you forgot that fake chip you gave me!?" replied Midas. Snake suddenly remembered and he couldn't help but feel a pang of fear, remembering what happened last time he angered Midas.
