Tinky is a young boy who resides in the Main Land, living in the Home Dome.

Tinky has calf length dark purple hair that he keeps tied, curled slightly at the ends. His bangs are thick and messy. His eyes consist of three colors: Purple, lemon yellow, light blue, and light pink. He is above the average male height, reaching 186 centimeters tall. In some artworks he wears a white bow that ties his hair, but during the campaign he is seen to wear an orange scrunchie. In the campaign, he wears a beige turtleneck sweater with dark grey pants.

The other characters would describe Tinky as intelligent, quiet, and athletic. He is not as talkative as the others, but it isn't by choice, he simply just doesn't know what to say and isn't really good with small talk. Tinky is a very considerate and kind person who is always thinking about the needs of other people. He openly displays care and concern for the others, praising everyone constantly and frequently. He is extremely shy and self-conscious when he meets someone new, usually muttering when he speaks or stuttering.

In the Japanese translation, his given name, "Tinky", written as "チンキ", has no special meaning as it is written in katakana. Meanwhile his surname "Nijinoiro", written as "虹の色",is a combination between three words; Niji, No, and Iro. When transliterated, his surname in English is literally "Thecolorsoftherainbow", as his surname is a combination. When uncombined, his surname means "The Colors Of The Rainbow".

• Just like in the show, Tinky is extremely effeminate and enjoys dressing up in 'pretty clothes'.
• He is allergic to dust and immediately calls Po when he wants to pick up something that was stained with dirt.
• Tinky is 27 years old.
• Tinky doesn't have a least favorite color.
• Tinky uses "Boku" as his pronoun in the Japanese translation.
• Tinky's birthday is on the 31st of August.
• There's a slight goof on his reference sheet―He doesn't have an aerial / antenna.
• Curiously, Tinky, Po, Noo-Noo, and The Guardian are the only ones to have three colors inside their eyes. This could be a symbolism that he is, aside from Noo-Noo, is considered a main antagonist in Slendytubbies.
