JUST ONE MORE NIGHT [One Night, #2]

TWELVE

Hi everyone. ☻
Focus muna tayo kila Kyle at Lien sa chapter na ito. Tapos ang mala-dramang flashback ni Xyra habang buntis kay Kersey.

TWELVE 

XYRA'S POV

I lay down in bed beside Kersey. He's getting sleepy now. I brushed my sons' hair while singing a lullaby for him.

"Lullaby and good night...Close your eyes and sleep tight... Like a rose in its bed...Lay down your sweet head..."

[Play the song]

The whole time I was pregnant with Kersey, I sang this lullaby for him. I can't help but shed I tear every time I sing this song for him.

"Baby. I'm sorry. I hope you can forgive m-mommy." I said with tears forming in my eyes as I caressed my tummy "B-because your daddy won't be there for you, the moment you open your eyes. I'm sorry because..." my voice started to tremble "You can't hear daddy's v-voice." And then tears started to fall. "And even now, your daddy can't even listen to you...nor feel you inside my tummy." I sobbed "I'm sorry, baby." Then I burst into tears.

When I was ready for delivery, Miguel was there to take me in the hospital. I screamed on top of my lungs as I try to pushed further.

"One more push, Miss Xyra!" told my obgyn doctor. And with one last push, I heard the cry of a baby. I felt relieved hearing that cry. And I can't help but burst into tears of joy when I saw and cradled Kersey for the first time.

"It's a boy, Miss." said the mid-wife beside me.

"Did you hear that, Xy? It's a boy." Miguel kissed my forehead and stared at Kersey. He was so happy to see him.

That moment, I had mixed emotions. I was happy because I gave birth to a healthy baby. And at the same time, I was unhappy because Kyle wasn't there. He was not the one beside me.

Naramdaman ko ang pagtulo ng luha sa mga mata ko. Agad kong pinunasan. Nakakalungkot mang isipin na walang daddy na nag-aabang kay Kersey. Walang daddy na humaplos sa anak ko. Walang daddy na sumisilip at nagbabantay sa nursery room. Instead of Kyle, it was Miguel.

"I love you, Kersey." I kissed my son's forehead.

It's time to sleep.

KYLE'S POV

Damnit! Padabog kong isinara ang pinto ng kotse ko. Sumasakit na talaga ang ulo ko sa babae na yun! Tangina talaga. Pinahiya nya ako sa harap ng Xyra kanina. Gumawa-gawa na naman siya ng kwento. Nasira na namang ang image ko kay Xy nito. Aish! Sarap putulan ng paa ang babaeng yun para hindi na nya ako masundan. Brutal oo, pero nakakainis talaga! This has to stop.

Pinaandar ko na ang kotse ko. I have to see Lien right now and talk to her.

DING DONG!

DING DONG!

Panay ang pindot ko sa doorbell ng unit nya. Maya-maya ay bumukas na rin.

"Kyle!" nabigla yata sya. She didn't expect me to come. "What are you doing here?"

"We need to talk, Lien." I barged inside her unit.

"About what?"

I faced her. I gave her a serious and intimidating look. "Stop bothering me." I said firmly.

Her eyebrows meet and she started to approach me. "Why?" she asked in a serious tone of voice "Is it because of that woman?"

I have to be honest. "Yes." I heaved a sigh.

"I see." she nodded and crossed her arms "Just because Xyra's back,  you're starting to pursue her." Lien smirked at me. 

I won't deny it. Because I want to make it up to Xyra. 

"Ba't di mo ba ako magawang magustuhan, Kyle? I'm doing my best to make you like me. Can't you see?" she said with her voice about to break. 

I shook my head. "Lien, matagal ko ng sinabi sa'yo. I just don't see you as a woman." Alam kong masasaktan siya sa sinabi ko. Pero mabuti na yun para tumigil na siya.

"You see Xyra as a woman...but not me?!" she slapped my chest twice and started to sob. "Ano bang kailangan kong gawin para magustuhan mo ako?!" Tumataas na ang boses nya ngayon. I don't want to see her wild side again. Yung nagwawala habang naiyak.

"Nothing. Wala kang kailangang gawin. Dahil kahit anong gawin mo, hinding-hindi kita magugustuhan." pinaninindigan ko ang sinabi ko.

And with that, nagsimula na siyang sumigaw. Ginulo nya ang mga throw pillows sa sofa at pinagtatapon kung saan-saan. Yung mga displays na nasa center table, magazines and ashtrays, pinag-hahagis na niya. See, this is Lien's wild side. I really dislike this side of her.

Mas sumigaw pa siya lalo habang humahagulgol.

"Stop it, Lien!" I said with gritted teeth. The more you tell her to stop, the more she throws tantrums. This time, she managed to break the glassware in the shelf. "I said stop!" pinigilan ko na siya. Pilit siyang kumakawala sa bisig ko. Her eyes are starting to get swollen. "Tinatanong mo ako kung bakit di kita magawang magustuhan diba?! Dahil dito, Lien! Tingnan mo nga sarili mo, hindi mo kayang kontrolin ang emosyon mo! Sa tingin mo, sinong lalaking magkakagusto sa'yo kung parati kang ganito ha!" I loosened my grip on her wrists. "You're so naive."

I turned my back on her. And headed towards the door. She ran after me.

"K-Kyle,p-please don't leave me. P-please." she pleaded while sobbing.

I shut the door behind me. For a moment, I rested my back on the door. I could still hear her cry. How many times do I have to reject her to make her stop pursuing me?
