That night:

My eyes narrowed.

Her once tense body relaxed under his grip, her full trust was in him.
And for some reason, my body gravitated towards them.

There wasn't any particular reason I knew, but the more I saw them together, the more I felt behind.

Deep down, I wanted someone to gravitate toward me like that, to attract people like Naruto could.

seriously? I scoffed at the thought.

Relationships are fickle, you have to tend every need only to be broken up over something small.

To see someone lose themselves in desire wasn't an unfamiliar sight; part of the reason I'm not entirely upset at feeling disconnected from other kids.

"Sasuke." Naruto called out.

He was still holding Sakura, her head resting as she was fast asleep.

"I tried asking about her but she insists on not going home, something about her mom being angry at her." He said as he scratched his head in thought.

"So what, she has to go home."

"No, she said she doesn't want to." He said

He walked right past me, assuming I would follow, "let's go to your place." He said confidently.

I grabbed his sleeve, stopping him in place.

"What makes you think I want her at my house? Take her to yours." I said as I gave a glance to make sure she was still unconscious.

He frowned, "Itachi knows how to help hangovers or whatever's wrong with her, and you have guest rooms. Plus, my mom would probably go crazy if I brought a girl home." He added nervously as if recalling a thought.

I exhaled as I knew i couldn't argue further, following after his quick pace.

My house wasn't far off from the party, being about a 15 minute walk. Halfway back to my house, Naruto ended up holding Sakura up fully as she was fast asleep, until he suddenly stopped in his tracks.

"Shit. I left my phone and Sakuras stuff!" He said worried, feeling around his pockets with his free hand.

Before I could offer, he propped her into my arms without warning and took off. I looked back to him as he shouted mid-run:

"Go on without me I know the way back!."

He quickly disappeared into the darkness, leaving me with Sakura.

I hesitated as she suddenly nudged her body into mine, seeking warmth.I slowly regained my pace and moved on, wondering what I would say if she woke up.
