The end of the summer camp had come and gone in a blur. The League of Villains had retreated, and while the aftermath of the attack lingered in everyone’s minds, the students of Class 1-A were given time to recover. Niko still couldn’t shake the encounter she’d had with Dabi, but with Tokoyami and Hawks by her side, she had managed to find some peace.

Weeks had passed, and now the second semester at U.A. was officially starting. The students, bruised and tired from their summer camp experience, gathered back in their familiar classroom. Though the air was lighter, the weight of their training and the attack remained.

Niko entered the classroom, her eyes scanning for familiar faces. She felt a soft nudge on her shoulder as she took her seat. “You ready for round two, Niko?” Uraraka asked, her bright smile returning after what felt like forever. Beside her, Midoriya gave a determined nod.

Niko smiled softly. “Yeah, I think I am.” Her gaze flickered to Tokoyami, who sat a few seats away, his eyes catching hers for a brief moment before he gave her a subtle nod. A small wave of warmth spread through her, knowing they were stronger together.

Aizawa entered, silencing the room with his usual calm authority. “Welcome back. The second semester is going to be just as intense as the first, if not more. But this time, you’ll be facing greater challenges—both in and out of the classroom.”

The students exchanged glances. They had a feeling things were about to get even tougher.

The hustle of the second semester at U.A. was finally settling in. With the events of the summer camp behind them, Class 1-A found themselves busier than ever with new challenges. The work studies were right around the corner, and the atmosphere buzzed with excitement and nerves.

Niko stood beside Tokoyami at U.A., leaning against the wall as they waited for their work study assignments. She had been quiet since the summer camp, still trying to process the weight of her newfound family connection and the strange dynamic with Dabi. But today, her focus was on something else: the opportunity to grow as a hero.

As the door slid open, Aizawa walked in, a stack of papers in his hand. “Listen up, everyone. Your work study assignments are ready.”

Midoriya’s face lit up as he was called first, assigned to Sir Nighteye’s agency. He exchanged a nervous but determined glance with Niko and Tokoyami as he stepped up.

Next came Uraraka and Asui, both heading to the prestigious Ryukyu Agency. They were all smiles, Uraraka giving Niko a thumbs-up as she and Tsuyu celebrated.

Then came Tokoyami’s name.

“You will be heading back to Hawks’ agency,” Aizawa announced. Tokoyami nodded, his usual calm demeanor hiding any excitement, though Niko could sense he was pleased.

“Niko Sakura,” Aizawa called out, making her stand a little straighter. “You’ll also be working at Hawks’ agency.”

Her eyes widened in surprise as she exchanged a quick glance with Tokoyami. Hawks? Of course, it made sense—he was her guardian after all—but she hadn't expected to train under him so soon.

After class, Niko and Tokoyami walked out of the room together, the atmosphere between them comfortable yet charged with anticipation.

“So, we’ll be working together,” Niko said, her voice laced with a mix of excitement and nerves.

Tokoyami glanced at her, the faintest hint of a smile appearing. “It seems so. Perhaps I can finally show you some of the... advantages of being with Hawks.”

Niko chuckled, nudging him slightly. “I’m looking forward to it, Fumikage.”

His expression softened at her using his first name. There was still something comforting about hearing her say it, as though it was a small reminder of the bond they’d built over the summer.

As the days passed, Midoriya, Uraraka, and Asui all prepared to head off to their respective agencies, each excited and nervous in their own ways. But for Niko, it was the night before starting at Hawks’ agency that kept her awake. Tokoyami would be there with her, which made things easier, but there was something about working with Hawks in a professional capacity that left her stomach in knots.

---

The next day, Niko and Tokoyami arrived at Hawks’ agency. The towering building was a reminder of just how important Hawks had become in the hero world. As they stepped inside, Hawks greeted them with his usual easygoing smile.

“Welcome, kid,” Hawks said, ruffling Niko’s hair as usual and showering her face with kisses but this time there was a glint of pride in his eyes. “You’re going to learn a lot here. And don’t worry, I won’t go easy on you just because you’re family.”

Tokoyami stood beside her, his serious expression unchanged, but Niko could sense the same determination in him. She knew this was going to be a crucial part of their journey, both as heroes and in their growing bond.
