It's been four years- well, soon-to-be-four years, meaning you're graduating college soon. It's your final graduation, in the spring of your soon-to-be-twenty-two-years-of-age, you're graduating from this very prestigious school with your full-ride scholarship still intact. But it's two months before then, so it's not spring, but it is close to it, close to the end of everything. It might've been weird to you at first, but now this normality has become... your home, the home you've always wanted. You can now say you're more lenient with yourself, you've been in a relationship with Mikasa for a bit over four years, you've been to all of Annie's games even if you only got to see the ending of her beating someone down- Last week it was Shadis, so most of the rumors abotu him are true, more than most likely. So, what you're trying to say is that you now have it all, and you're finally going to get your dream job in two months, what could go wrong?

The energy drink filled bucket, splashes onto your sweatpants, that's what could go wrong. "Reiner, I will kick your ass again, I told you not to do this with Y/n around, her sweats are ruined-" "Annie, it's fine," you plead with the woman about to punch your friend, she'd even call him hers, you know. Oh right, you didn't confess to Annie, haven't apologized either. In four years, your friendship has changed, and you know it wasn't for the better, but who cares when you both have two more months together, two more months of pretending like you won't go separate ways once this is all over. She rolls her eyes, using the towel she was given to wipe her drenched body. She smells of energy drinks, which you almost tease her about, meeting her crystal blue gaze before you hear a voice you haven't grown accustomed to. "Good job, Annie!" Just like Annie, you haven't apologized to Hitch, and Hitch hasn't apologized to you. It feels wrong to be jealous when they high five, you got to hug Annie after her match, even though she was sweaty, but luckily before the dumping of warm drinks on her. So, you haven't apologized to Annie, but your feelings almost haven't diminished, instead they've molded into you, your heart surrounded by the pungent filth of liking Annie.

No, that's wrong, Annie being associated with filth or pungent will never seen right to your heart that beats for you. You're only acting this way because the ravenette you've harbored feelings for, has been too late for four years, it started at two months, but it's now stretched to four. Reiner's 'I don't know' stretched on for four years too long. For four years, you've harbored feelings for Annie while dating Mikasa, and for more than four years, you will always regret the times you've not been able to tell her 'I love you' the way you've craved to do. "So, what do you think?" You hum, Reiner handing you a towel as he reiterates what Hitch said. "A pool party tonight. It'll be a good celebration for Annie's win, and the upcoming graduation this semester-" "And the end of the final semester for you all." You hum, recalling Hitch's degree. "Right, you still have a year left, right?" She hums. "Half a year, hopefully. The summer credits this year should help me out." You nod, ringing the towel you hold that's dry as you reply to the three surrounding you, "A party would be good. We all deserve it-" "Glad you said that it'll be at nine, when the pool closes, but you can come whenever. Annie's going to be getting ready with me- After she showers." Her nose scrunches, and all you can focus on is how beautiful she is, not how jealous you should be. You're beautiful, you know that, but seeing them together... You blink, phone vibrating against your thigh. "Oh, Mikasa," you mutter when you read her text message.

Your brows furrow, not recalling spending that much time with Mikasa besides the morning. The truth is, as long as you've been dating Mikasa it feels like you've been growing apart- or pushing her away. You're not sure which one it truly is, or if they're both just the result of your feelings for Annie growing. You're not sure, and you honestly don't care. Maybe being with Mikasa for four years has made the burn out stick., our emotions always... a little less with her. You watch Annie leave with Hitch's hand on her wrist, a shy smile on your friend's face before she disappears from your sight, Reiner's voice in your head as he comments, "You're too in love with her." You scoff, eyes blinking as you look to him. "And you aren't with your boyfriend?" He still smiles when Bertolt is mentioned as his partner, and you still feel happy knowing he's happy. "That's the difference, we're dating-" You put your hands to your heart, cupping it even with the rag still in your possession, as if you're hurt.
