Chapter 8: It's Obvious

Savani had been trying to avoid Amir since what happened. As she was at her locker her brother had walked up towards her.

Syven: Wassup sis.

Savani: (jumps in fear) You scared me.

Syven: Why are you so jittery?

Savani: No reason.

Syven: Interesting but I'm staying back after school and I figured to let you know.

Savani: Okay and wait, why are you telling me this?

Syven: I just said I figured you should know.

Savani: You have never told me this before so why now.

Syven: Just forget it big head I gotta go meet my friends. I'll see you at home later.

Savani: Mhm okay.

At Zarielle House later that day, Ej had to deal with his wife and daughter both having their cycles at the same time.

Ej: Baby you sure you don't want-

RiRi: I said no didn't i?

Zari: (walks in) Ughh why me?

Ej: Oh lord noo.

Essie: What's wrong dada?

Ej: Nothing baby girl.

Ej tried to handle everything the best he could even though it was hard to accomplish but he managed.

Few Days Later

At football practice on their break Jaylen and Amir were talking to each other.

Jaylen: Bro did you do what I told you to do.

Amir: Nah it's like she's been avoiding me ever since then.

Jaylen: So shut that down.

Amir: What do you mean?

Jaylen: Stop her from avoiding you and confront her.

Amir: Nah i'll let her have her space.

Jaylen: Amir, are you dumb?

Amir: Man no, I think what I was feeling was nothing.

Jaylen: You're about to piss me off.

Amir: I'm saying maybe that's why she's avoiding me.

Jaylen: Have you ever thought maybe she's running because she felt the same thing. She wouldn't just avoid you for a reason.

Amir: You might be onto something.

As they were walking away to grab water Xavier had overheard the whole conversation.

At Zarielle's Mom Birthday Dinner Savani, Jaylen, Amir and their parents were there. It was pretty awkward for Savani as Amir was staring at her from across the table. Zarielle and Jaylen are smiling at eachother but being cautious since they haven't told their parents about their relationship. They had ordered their food, chatted around the table, and then sang happy birthday to RiRi. After the girls went to take pictures in the bathroom then came back secretly posing for pictures at the table.
