Chapter 24

Lucas Pov
I was filling out a form for a dog being adopted, when I get a call. Riley. "Hey hon, how's it going?" I ask. "Hey, babe, you need to come home. Right now. My water broke." "What?! There's still another month!" I exclaim. "I know, but I need you to take me to the hospital." "Ok," I reply. I check out of my shift, then drive home. Riley is waiting outside the apartment complex, holding the baby bag. I help her into the car, and she holds my hand the whole drive to the hospital. "Riley Matthews, checking in." I say to the receptionist. A nurse leads us to the room for an ultrasound. Our doctor, Dr. Shen, enters the room. "Riley, this is quite unusual, to be in labour this early. She squeezed the gel onto her stomach, and we saw the two babies. "Oh my," the doctor gasped. "What's wrong?" I asked, panicking. "One of the babies is upside down, we will need to do an emergency c-section once you are ready to have the babies." Riley started to cry, and I held her hand. We went into another room, where she changed into a gown and laid on her bed. We called everyone, to let them know what was happening. Maya, Farkle, Smackle, our parents, Auggie, Josh, Mr. Squirrels and Mr. Feeny all came to the hospital, as they were staying in California until the baby arrived. Farkle, Smackle, Josh and Maya were all on break from school, which was pretty awesome. "IS TINY PLANT HERE YET?" Maya shouted. "RELAX MARIAH, IM THE ONE WHO GETS TO SCREAM ABOUT LITTLE LITTLE PANGERS!" Eric answered. Everybody ran into the room, which was surprisingly big. Topanga and Cory held food, and Maya and Josh were debating with Farkle and Smackle upon who were the godparents. The nurse found everybody in the room, and kicked them out. Riley was silent, because I knew she was scared. "Riles, no matter what, I love you. These babies have brought us together, and I will always be here for them." "I love you country boy," she said. "I love you city girl," I replied. We both fell asleep.
