You can hear it in the silence

Travis's POV

I watch sadly as Taylor leaves my room and enters her own. I sigh and go into the on-suite bathroom. Rinsing my face off with cold water and brushing my teeth.

Unfortunately I had only brought one golfing outfit since I didn't know if my space was super limited or not. And stupid me didn't even bring my favorite one.

The stupid green shirt makes me look like a leprechaun since my beard appears as ginger during the summer months.

Making sure I look good in the mirror, adjusting the collar of my shirt nicely then putting my watch on my left wrist securely.

Then when I came to the realization that I was going to a golf course and not a fashion show I grabbed my phone and wallet and walked out of my bedroom, gently shutting the door.

I made sure to sneak into Taylor's room to give her a kiss on the cheek before I left, even though she was asleep it still felt nice to know I said goodbye.

"Hey Andrew." I smile as I walk into the kitchen where he was leaning on the counter waiting for me.

"Hey, ready to go? We're gonna miss our T-time." He says, shoving his phone into his back pocket.

"Yep." I mumble, grabbing a water bottle from the fridge and following him out the door

We both load our golf bags into the back of the truck then get in. Not talking much during the short ride to the country club, mostly letting the radio fill the silence.

My mind drifts to Taylor as we drive, I wonder what she's doing, is she still asleep? We only left about twenty minutes ago so the chances are she probably is. Maybe she'll text me when she's awake. I miss her already.

Soon we arrive at the course and both hop out. It's pretty cool outside, a slight breeze. Dew on the grass since it's still early morning.

"You know, Blake told me something funny before I left." Andrew says as we walk to the first hole.

My heart drops. Did Blake tell him about what she saw? Did she ignore Taylor's request? I have to swim through all the thoughts so I can actually hear what he's saying next.

"W-what?" I stutter, playing it off with a cough.

He then goes on a twenty minute story with twelve side stories and many tangents later, but the only thing I understood was that Taylor and me were not the main topic so I won.

We get to the eighteenth hole pretty quickly since it was just the two of us, and as we're driving the golf cart over to the beginning, I can tell that Andrew's gonna say something else. Something I can't quite put my finger on.

"You know Trav, I think Taylor might be seeing someone." Andrew says after a few seconds of silence.

"Really? What makes you think that?" I ask, putting on my best poker face to not reveal anything that he doesn't need or want to know.

"Travis."

"Hm?" I hum, scratching my nose as I practice swinging.

"You're out of my house by tomorrow morning. And don't you ever even think about me or my family ever again." Andrew says and drops his golfball into the hole. Then walking off the course, leaving me stranded.
