They had been traveling back home for weeks now. They were so tired. They had buried Millie near a giant oak tree, with gathered flowers from the fields to lay on her grave. They yearned for her so much, it hurt. She would be so missed, by everyone. What would he tell his parents when they got back? Or the whole pack for that matter? That this whole journey had practically been for nothing? Only to end up with a dead wolf they had been looking for and many shaken packmates?

The Black Tyscol had been found the next day at the same spot they had left her, so she had been invited to come along. She had refused at first, but then agreed, saying her den, what she calls, Shadow Den, was along the way anyways.

It felt like it had been so many months since they first started, and after all this time, Amax felt like his pack would've forgotten about them by now. Bescona had barely talked to him that whole time, and Amax and Alastro just avoided each other too. He felt overly embarrassed to be with his sister. Angry sure, but embarrassed? He didn't quite know why. He let Bescona and Alastro lead the way. He still hadn't talked to them about something yet. He caught up to them at the front, and started to clear his throat.

"How did you find us?" Amax asked, very eager to find out after all this time. Bescona kept her eyes forward, her face set serious as she began to answer his question. The others looked questionably at her, obviously wondering the same thing.

"First of all, remember when I last talked to you, Amax? One day after that, I saw the bears. I was so sure they were following your scent, they looked mighty suspicious and they were following that trail we had gone through. I didn't think of it much, and hadn't gotten too worried. But then I came across what was sure to be their den, it was awfully close and had reek of bear, wolf and maybe some bobcat and aardwolf." She paused for a moment. Evidently, everyone was waiting for the part why Alastro was here. "I ended up getting pretty far away when I bumped into Alastro. I questioned her seriously on what she was doing there, and turns out she had been following us. She wanted to help, and she was very worried by how long we were gone-"

"Hah! A Northern Wolf worried about Southern Wolves?" Laughed Sky, his face twisted in disgust not long after.

"-so, thinking about the bears again, we decided to come back to see if you guys were okay. We ran pretty much the whole entire way, rarely taking rest stops. We came at a really good time, didn't we? Anyhow, one more thing, she told me something I'm not sure I should have been told. And by the whole avoiding each other thing, I think Amax has a pretty clear idea of what it is. Go ahead, Amax, tell everyone. Better now than later." She finished, her ruthful eyes narrowed.

She knew? How did she know? Was his body language that obvious? Amax jumped up in alarm, his fur bushed up. What would the others think of him? Being a brother to a Northern Pack wolf?

"Amax, what is this?" Star glanced at him.

"Yea, what's so secretive you can't tell us?" Sky glared at him.

Amax sighed. "You tell them." He muttered.

Alastro looked offended, and he could understand why. He must look as though he is too sheepish to admit that he is related to her.

"She told me that..." Bescona started, suddenly looking hesitant to say it herself, "...that Amax is really her brother." Silence spread like a wildfire, even the scrawny birds seemed to stop singing and the breeze seemed to freeze. Amax just hung his head, even though none of this was even his fault. Alastro spoke up, not at all ashamed. How could she? None of this was her fault, either.

"Amax, you knew, didn't you?" She frowned.

"Yes, yes I knew. At Cave Of The Telling." He looked away, despite Alastro looking at him confused.
