The sun shone, the snow glinted, the breeze swept and the wolves ran through the woods. Amax had never seen the world so beautiful before.

Bescona and Ash has decided to be platonic partners, explaining that they shared the same interests and had grown close over the days. They said they didn't want pups, just each other, unlike Amax which is why he wanted Moon, or else he'd of chosen Bescona and been platonic with her. Besides, he couldn't ever have someone platonic. As an alpha, you have to have pups, that is the law. Or else who would inherit the rank?

And Amax wasn't mad, or jealous. He was so pleased for them.

As Alpha, he had made a few adjustments to the law itself.

"I have spoken to Garo." He had called one morning. Many wolves were surprised, as if an Alpha ever managed to speak with their heaven, they weren't so young or new at the role, usually they were older and more experienced. But when was speaking directly with god ever normal?

And talked to Garo he did. He had tried hard and hard for days, and finally, he had envisioned his way through to the starry, landless sky. He had thought of going back to Cave Of The Telling, as it is a very religious place, but it hadn't been any need when Garo had accepted his request to speak and change something dreadful.

"From here on out, I perish the law of female wolf pups, born from Alphas. They no longer need to leave the pack or be killed. Whoever invented that, well shame on you. It's tragic, and no female deserves that. They deserve to be equals, to have just as many rights as us male." He could see many approving nods from the wolves below, especially Alastro.

And wether they believed he had the approval from their heavenly god or not, Garo didn't do a single thing to change it.

He felt very proud of himself, proud of his friends and proud of his pack. Together they'd build a more peaceful world.

Sitting alone on the ledge, he thought of Marcus, Bolie and Colaro, his throat tightening. He missed them so much, and maybe one day they would meet again. As unlikely as that seemed, it wasn't impossible.

He looked up at the bright sky, fluffy white clouds drifting across. He took in a big gulp of air, the wind buffeting his fur.

"I promise, I will keep this pack going as you once did." He silently whispered, hoping his message would ride through the wind and up to the sky, where his parents could here. Aztec and Aclisa who would be remembered for as long as he lived.

This was his story.
