Summary: As a key member of Team Voltron, you've been Pidge's closest friend throughout your time in the Castle of Lions. But one evening, under a star-filled sky, something shifts in your relationship as Pidge slowly starts to open her heart.

The soft hum of the Castle of Lions was a familiar, comforting sound that you had grown used to over the past few months of being a part of Team Voltron. The sleek metal walls and the faint glow of Altean technology created an atmosphere that was simultaneously peaceful and awe-inspiring. But tonight, something felt different.

You were perched on a ledge overlooking the Castle's outer courtyard, the alien stars sparkling against the infinite expanse of space. Pidge had invited you here to help her with some tech adjustments, but for the past half hour, she had been mostly silent, engrossed in her work.

You didn't mind, though. Watching Pidge work was fascinating in itself. She moved with a confidence that belied her small stature, her hands quick and precise as they manipulated the strange technology she always seemed to understand better than anyone else. Her glasses occasionally slipped down her nose, and she would push them back up with an adorable, absentminded gesture.

You found yourself smiling at the sight, your heart swelling with affection for the girl beside you. Pidge had been your closest friend since you joined the team, but lately, you had been feeling something deeper—a warmth that made your chest ache whenever you were near her.

"Hey," you said, breaking the silence. "You've been working for hours. How about a break?"

Pidge blinked, as if just realizing you were there. "Oh, uh, right." She glanced at the small device in her hand, the one she had been obsessively tinkering with. "I just wanted to finish this. But I guess it can wait."

You grinned. "Good. Because I brought something that might help."

Reaching into the small bag you had brought with you, you pulled out two cups and a thermos of tea that you had managed to snag from the Castle's kitchen. Pidge looked at the offering with surprise.

"You brought tea? Since when are you so prepared?"

You shrugged. "I knew you'd need a break eventually. Plus, I figured stargazing with tea sounded nice."

Pidge gave you a small, genuine smile, the kind that always made your heart flutter. "Thanks. You really didn't have to do that."

"Hey, what are friends for?" you replied, though the word friends felt suddenly inadequate. You handed her a cup and poured the warm tea, the fragrant steam rising between you.

For a while, the two of you sat in comfortable silence, sipping tea and gazing out at the stars. Pidge leaned back, stretching her arms above her head. "I forget sometimes how beautiful space is," she said softly, her green eyes reflecting the stars above. "We're always moving so fast, fighting, training... I don't really stop to appreciate it."

You nodded. "Yeah. It's easy to get caught up in everything. But I'm glad we get moments like this." You glanced at her out of the corner of your eye, watching her relaxed expression. "With you."

Pidge turned her head slightly, and you could feel her gaze on you. "You mean that?"

"Of course I do," you said, heart pounding a little faster. "I've always felt... connected to you, you know? We've been through a lot together, and you're one of the people I trust most."

Pidge's cheeks flushed a faint pink, but she didn't look away. "I feel the same way, actually," she admitted. "I'm not the best at, you know, talking about feelings and stuff. But you've always been there for me, even when I'm being all... Pidge-y."

You laughed softly. "I wouldn't call it 'Pidge-y.' I'd call it brilliant."

Pidge snorted, but there was a soft edge to her laugh. "You're way too nice to me."

"I'm just being honest," you said, a little more seriously. "You're amazing, Pidge. You do so much for the team, and sometimes I feel like you don't even realize how much you mean to us... to me."

The space between you felt charged, the weight of unspoken feelings hanging in the air. Pidge's hand, which had been resting on the blanket beside her, twitched as if she wanted to reach out but wasn't sure if she should.

You took the initiative, gently placing your hand over hers. Pidge's eyes widened slightly, but she didn't pull away. Instead, she looked down at your intertwined fingers, her expression softening into something vulnerable, something open.

"I, um..." Pidge's voice faltered for a moment. "I've never been good at this kind of stuff, you know? Feelings. Romance. I've always been focused on my mission, on finding my family, and then on saving the universe. But..."

She looked up at you, her eyes searching yours as if she were looking for some kind of answer.

"But I think I've been feeling something for you. For a while now," she finally said, her voice barely above a whisper. "I just didn't know how to say it."

Your heart swelled at her words, and you couldn't help but smile. "You don't have to say anything more, Pidge. I feel the same way."

The relief in her expression was immediate, and her lips curved into a small, shy smile. She squeezed your hand gently, the contact sending a warm tingle through your skin.

"I've never done this before," she admitted. "The whole... relationship thing. But if it's with you, I want to try."

You felt your heart skip a beat at her words, a wave of affection washing over you. "We'll figure it out together," you said softly.

Pidge smiled, the warmth between you growing stronger with every second. The stars above you seemed to glow a little brighter, the vast expanse of space suddenly feeling a lot less daunting with her by your side.

"Yeah," she said, her voice full of quiet certainty. "Together."

As the night stretched on, you stayed there beside her, hand in hand, under a sky full of stars. And for the first time in a long time, everything felt right.
