Summary: After a brutal mission leaves you injured, Pidge becomes overly protective, putting a strain on your relationship with the team and each other.

You groaned as you sat up in your quarters, the soft whir of the Castle of Lions soothing yet alien in your ears. The last few days had been a blur of pain and fear. An ambush by the Galra had left you injured and shaken, and while the rest of the team had managed to escape relatively unscathed, your wounds had taken a toll on you.

Your injuries weren't life-threatening, but they were significant enough to keep you bedridden for a few days. Pidge had barely left your side since you'd returned from the mission. She was constantly fussing over you, checking your bandages and making sure you took your medications on time. At first, you had appreciated her concern, but it had morphed into something more stifling.

Today was your first day back out of bed. You felt stronger and eager to join your friends again, even if just to hang out. Pidge had been so focused on keeping you safe that she had become almost frantic, constantly scanning for any potential danger, even when it was just you and her.

As you carefully swung your legs over the side of the bed, you felt a twinge of pain in your ribs. "Ugh, come on," you muttered to yourself, breathing through the discomfort.

"Y/N! What are you doing?" Pidge burst into the room, her eyes wide with alarm.

"I'm just getting up, Pidge," you replied softly, trying to calm her. "I feel fine. Just a little sore."

"Fine? You were just in the infirmary, for crying out loud!" She rushed over to your side, her hands hovering over you like she was afraid you would crumble to dust if she touched you. "You should be resting! You can't go around getting hurt again."

"I'm not going to get hurt just sitting here!" you insisted, your frustration rising. You understood her fear; you had been hurt badly, but you were getting better. "I want to see the others. I want to be with you."

Pidge's expression softened slightly, but her resolve didn't waver. "I'll be with you, but I'm not letting you out of my sight," she said firmly. "Not even for a second."

You sighed, realizing it was a losing battle. With a small nod, you let Pidge help you stand, her arm encircling your waist for support. You smiled at her, grateful despite the situation. Pidge had always been fiercely loyal, but this was different—she seemed to be carrying the weight of the universe on her shoulders.

As you slowly made your way to the common area, you spotted the rest of the Voltron team gathered around the table. Hunk was busy fixing a snack, while Lance and Keith were engaged in a heated debate about strategy. Allura sat nearby, a concerned look on her face.

"Y/N!" Hunk exclaimed, rushing over. "You're up! How are you feeling?"

"I'm okay, just a little sore," you replied, forcing a smile. You felt a swell of joy at being back with your friends, but Pidge's grip on your waist tightened.

"Don't get too close, Hunk," she warned, her voice firm. "You know how fragile she is right now."

Hunk frowned, caught off guard by Pidge's protectiveness. "I'm not going to break her, Pidge! I just wanted to see if she needed anything."

"She doesn't need anything! She needs to rest," Pidge said, her voice rising slightly.

You felt the tension in the air thicken, a strange silence falling over the group. Keith exchanged a glance with Lance, both unsure how to diffuse the situation. Allura stepped in, her voice calm and soothing. "Pidge, we're all just happy to see Y/N. Let's not forget that she's part of this team, too."
