Emily's pov:
I have to talk to summer today about what happened yesterday, but I'm not sure how I'm going to do that with michelle around.I should've stopped it. But I didn't, and I'm not sure why.
Michelle is currently running rehearsal, but luckily, she didn't come home last night, and I have no idea where she was.
I feel awful that I didn't push summer away, I just hope michelle doesn't find out about this.
I decide to interrupt rehearsal slightly so that I can grab summer.
I leave the office, and as I stand just outside of the door, I shout across to her. "Summer! Can I borrow you for a second?" She looks at michelle and then back at me before making her way over.
"What's up?" She asks as she reaches me in the doorway.
"Come and sit down. We need to talk."
"And I'm certain you know why." I tell her.
She hangs her head a little, "if this is about yesterday, i -" she begins before I quickly interrupt.
"I'm gonna stop you there, summer." I say.
"What you did was wrong and should never have happened, but I'm willing to forgive it and leave it in the past, I say."
A confused look takes her face, "you- you are?" She asks me.
I nod, "I am."
"But-" I say before taking a breath.
"Yes?"
"This stays between us. And if you would like, I would like us to stay friends." I tell her.
"But nothing more than that." I say.
Her eyes quickly widen, "Are you serious!? Of course I do!" She squeals.
"Shhh!"
Suddenly, I see michelle walking towards the office through the window, "Just follow along." I whisper to summer.
Suddenly, I turn to see michelle standing in the doorway when she clears her throat, "What's this about?" She crosses her arms.
"Just dance captain stuff." Summer smiles.
"So that's all sorted then?" I ask summer, acting like we've been talking about her dance captaincy.
"Mhm. I'll sort it." She nods as she plays along.
"Good. You can get back to rehearsal now." I let her know that she can leave.
She stands up from the chair, making her way out but bumping into michelle as she leaves.
"So... dance captain stuff, huh?" Michelle questions me.
"Yeah, I was just saying that we need final lineups ready soon." I lie.
"We do need to have some sort of dress rehearsal."
"Oh, I thought finally lineups were already cleared?" She questions.
I shake my head, "No. She asked me if she could switch it up a few days ago."
She looks confused, she turns to look at the rehearsal and then back to me. "You uh- you didn't mention anything?"
"Yeah, it totally went over my head, sorry." I chuckle slightly to make it seem more believable.
"Oh, right yeah, you can forget sometimes. Just make sure to let me know next time..." she tells me.
"Yeah, I will." I smile.
She looks out of the office window again before saying this, "Well, I uh, better get back out there. These routines are such a mess!" She laughs.
"Okay!" I exclaim.
"Yeah, you should definitely fix that." I agree.
She chuckles on her way out before going back into rehearsal mode and screaming at everyone for making the dance look shitty.
I tend to keep out of it though, when michelle is in one of those moods, it's better to keep out of her way.
But sometimes she can go slightly overboard...
