As we head back to the farm, nothing but our footfalls against the leaf covered ground sounding through the air, my mind spins.
How did Randall turn?
He wasn't bit according to Daryl and there was no scratches on his body that any of us could see. Daryl made sure of it.
So the question remains, how did this happen?
Suddenly, a single gunshot sounds through the almost silent air making all of us stop for a minute, trying to pinpoint the source of the shot.
"Was that Rick and Shane?" Glenn asks no one in particular.
"We can't know until we get back. Had to be someone cause it wasn't Randall." Daryl says as he continues to move.
"Rick and Shane wouldn't fire off a single shot. Somethings gotta be wrong." I point out, knowing that of all of us out here with our asses hanging out, Rick and Shane wouldn't be dumb enough to fire a gun for one single walker.
"Keep a move on people, we ain't got all damn night." Daryl demands as he keeps moving toward the farmhouse making all the rest of us follow.
Within no time at all, we get back onto the property and make quick work to get back inside.
The moment the door opens and we all get inside noticing that Rick and Shane aren't back, it's clear who the shot came from.
"Rick and Shane ain't back?" Daryl asks everyone.
"No." Lori answers him simply.
"We heard a shot." I tell all of them.
"Maybe they found Randall?" Lori suggests before Daryl shakes his head.
"We found him." He tells her.
"Is he back in the shed?" Maggie asks now.
"He's a walker." I tell everyone which has more than a few eyebrows raising.
"Did you find the walker that bit him?" Hershel asks and I shake my head.
"No, the weird thing is. He wasn't bit." Glenn explains now.
"His neck was broke." Gage adds, and it's like a never ending circle.
"So he fought back?" Patricia asks.
"The thing is, Shane and Randall's tracks were right on top of each other and Shane ain't no tracker, so he didn't come up behind him. They were together." Daryl explains to everyone, seeming to still try and piece all this information together himself.
"Would you please go back out there and go find Rick and Shane and find out what on earth is going on?" Lori asks then, stepping closer to Daryl to urge her demand further.
"You got it." Daryl tells her before my dad grabs my arm to stop me from going anywhere.
"You're not going out again. I didn't like this situation from the start, and now with all this new shit coming out, I don't trust everything that's been said tonight. I don't think it's as safe as we all thought it was." My dad urges and I can't help but nod.
"I don't like this either. Nothing's adding up and I'm pretty sure Shane lied about everything that happened earlier. I don't know how but I think he killed Randall and made it seem like he was attacked. Staged tonight somehow?" I say, completely unsure of anything I'm saying.
"The bruises all over Rick and Shane's faces are from a fight they got into while trying to drop Randall off the first time. It was that same fight that lead to walkers getting involved with the drop off and screwed everything up. Rick wouldn't tell me what they were fighting about, but I have a general idea of what it is." My dad tells me and I look at him, asking him if he'll tell me further but he shakes his head. "It's not important." He dismisses before leading me outside.
