"Shh, shh." It was Travis. You fought back.
"Dani, stop. The unsub is still here." You stilled at that. You put your hands up, gun still in hand.
"Why did you do that!" You whisper yelled at him.
"I heard movement in the second bedroom and the balcony. You were being too loud." He said. You weren't trusting this. It seemed weird. You bent down and picked up the phone.
"Dani!" It was Emily.
"I'm here, I'm here." You said, leveling your voice. You kept your eyes on Owens the whole time.
"What happened?" Hotch said. His voice was back to SSA.
"Sergeant Owens said the unsub was in the second bedroom and he was waiting for movement. He grabbed me to keep quiet... How far are you?" You said slowly.
"We are about to park. Is everything okay?" Hotch spoke.
"No, I don't have an extra flashlight." You spoke. Trying to hint that something was wrong. You weren't sure it was Travis but it was oddly convenient that he found the body. He knew the site. Unsubs like to revisit the crime scenes, he had control over this. You couldn't deny this.
"Danielle. Are you in danger?" Hotch smoke slowly.
"I'm not sure, the other half of the body was in the closet." You said.
"Can you get out?" He said.
"No. The body was warm but the time of death had to be roughly four hours ago." You said, watching Travis check the window.
"We are coming, about to approach the front door." He said.
"Travis and I can head down. Be careful there is part of the body by the foot of the stairs. Come on, my teams here?" Travis picked his head up at this. He started to walk down the stairs as the team walked in. They all had their hands on their guns but not raised.
"Sergeant Owens, why don't you head back and alert your team and the rest of mine of the new body. Get the forensics team down here." Hotch said.
"Oh, I can call them." He said, picking up his phone.
"No. I'll go with you. We need to check other sites. Let's get our team and head to the next." Morgan said. You looked him in the eyes and shook your head. He eyes you down.
"Oh, okay. Yeah, I can drive." He said. They walked out of the door but Morgan gave you one last nod.
"I'm not totally sure that he is the unsub. He must have a partner if it is him. I know we didn't profile that but he knew this was the place to go, all the way down to the room, that couldn't be a coincidence. It was the first room we checked. We can't leave Morgan with him. Oh my god, he chooses male victims of color, I should have gone with him! We need to go after-" You started to walk towards the door when Hotch grabbed you.
"Danielle. Take a second. His cooling off period is longer than this. He still thinks we don't know and right now we don't have any evidence to make an arrest. Yes he fits the profile but so does a quarter of the city. Morgan can handle himself, the precinct is down the road." He said calmly but his grip was strong.
"You were right...I should have seen this sooner. I swear to god if anything happens to Morgan because of me-"
"Dani. Are you hurt?" Emily asked. Hotch let go of you and his eyes roamed up and down your body.
"No, no, I'm fine. It's the victim's blood. Half of him was propped up in the closet and he fell on me. The other half was down stairs. It's not consistent with the profile he wasn't posed like the others. This was for me. He wanted me to find him." You said to Emily. She nodded but looked at Hotch.
