She looked sorry but her eyes never left yours. She gave everyone hugs and she walked up to you.

"I did everything you said, I never deviated." You said.

"I knew you would." She touched your face and tears filled your eyes. They began to talk about the case and Emily talked about everything. You couldn't keep your eyes off Hotch. He knew she was alive this whole time and then he left, just like she had. You knew deep down she was alive.

"Who is Declan's mother?" Hotch said. It made you perk up.

"Doyle told me she was dead." Emily said. She ended up going into the room and you watched through the window. Hotch stood beside you.

"You had contact with Doyle." It wasn't a question.

"You knew Emily was alive." Again not a question.

"He's a killer and he's dangerous. You should have told me." Not us. Me. Hotch was pissed.

"You know what was dangerous. Making me think Emily was dead. Making me think my best friend was dead and then leaving me. You know what that did to me, do you know what that made me want to do-" You stopped yourself. He turned to look into your eyes. You weren't going to say it. If you said it, it would never be the same.

"She's back. He's in custody, that's all that matters." He said. His gaze grew soft. Doyle pointed out who Declan's mother was and you were all off. Nothing else was said between the two of you. You walked into the interrogation team after Reid proposed that we give the McDermotts Doyle.

"We will get him back, Ian." You said. He nodded.

"I'll do it." He said. You got him handcuffed and put him in the car. You sat in the backseat with him while they drove to the tarmac. "I wanted to thank you." He said.

"For what?" You asked.

"Doing this. Caring about my son even after I killed Emily- after I thought I killed her. You didn't have to do it." He said.

"I didn't do it for you. Dead or alive, everything was for Emily." Emily stayed quiet in the front seat. "You threatened my team, you threatened my Unit Chief's son. I wasn't going to let that slide." You said. You got to the tarmac and you brought him out of the car and walked him to McDermott, Declan stayed by his side.

"You save, Declan. You make sure he has a good life." He said to you,

"You make sure of that yourself, Doyle. You're not getting out of this that easy" Before you knew what was happening shots were fired and Doyle was dead. You watched as his body hit the ground. You held onto Declan. He looked up at both of you.

"Lindsey, it's over. Let's go." Hotch grabbed your shoulder. You nodded and followed back to the SUV. You got into the passenger seat and he started to drive. He still had his beard from being overseas and he wore a thigh holster over cargo pants. His vest was over a tight short sleeve blue shirt. You started to unbuckle your vest and put it in the back seat. You looked over to him and pressed the clasp on his. He gave you a confused look.

"You look uncomfortable." He nodded and let you take it over his head. You threw that vest in the back seat.

"You know you are going to need to be investigated and evaluated." He said.

"I know. But I don't regret my decisions and I know that you would do the same thing in my shoes." You said. He looked over at you.

"No, I wouldn't have. I'm not that kind of person, "he said.

"He threatened Jack." You said. He froze. "If I didn't find Declan he would have killed Jack and then you and then everyone on this team. I couldn't let that happen. He found me the night of Emily's funeral. He was in Emily's apartment. We sat down and had a glass of wine while he told me his plan."
