There was an explosion, you were sure of that. You couldn't move anything yet but you felt a liquid come from your ears. You could hear car alarms blaring and the crackling of fire.

"Kate! Kate!" You could hear distantly. You couldn't move. You couldn't see anything. It felt like hours had pasts.

"Officers down!" You heard distantly. You opened your eyes to a man.

"Are you okay?" He came into view. "Ms. Are you okay?" He said again, leaning down. You tried to blink away the dust.

"Y-yes. What happened?" You asked, trying to get up.

"There was a bomb. Are you a cop?" He asked.

"I'm a federal agent." You tried to get up.

"Here, let me help you." He grabbed your hands to help you up. You screamed. You looked down and saw your bone was exposed on your humerus. An obvious break.

"I think I can walk." You said as you let him help you with one arm. "Where are the two agents I was with?" You tried to look around.

"Over there." He pointed to a man hunched over a woman. You tried to walk over and held a hand over your stomach. Something was lodged there. You moved slowly.

"Hotch...Kate..." You tried to yell but you wouldn't. You're shoe was missing. "Where the hell is my shoe!" Your legs were chafing in your pencil skirt. You shouldn't have worn a damn skirt. The bodies didn't move. You kicked off your other heel and started to move over. You tripped a few times and hit the ground when you reached them.

"She's bleeding. I can't stop the bleeding. Sam-"

"It's me. Aaron." He looked over.

"Dani?" He looked broken. Blood trailed out of his ears. You put your free hand on his face but realized it was covered with blood.

"What am I looking at?" You looked down to Joyner.

"Hi, there." She said in her posh accent.

"Kate, how are you feeling?" You asked. She smiled.

"Like I'm in a cinema. Oh, movie. Isn't that what you call it. Why do you use a different word for it?" She was rambling.

"I have no clue, Kate. I don't." You said to her. "Hotch let me see. I'm trained for this." You motioned toward his hand. He lifted her up and you saw her bare spine. "Let me. I can stop the bleeding." You put your hand over his. "Take off my jacket." You said to him.

"What?" He looked confused as he let you replace his hand.

"Take off my jacket and tie it around my waist." You said as you tried to stop the bleeding.

"Why?" He started to do as you told him.

"To stop the bleeding-"

"It won't matter, the wound is open-"

"For me, Aaron." He looked down to your white top and button down and saw the shrapnel lodged in your side. "Don't pull it out. It will only make it worse." He started to move it down your arm. "Mind my arm." He looked down at that too.

"Damn it. You're bleeding too much let me help you-"

"No. I got this. I'm her best chance, I'm trained. I'll take care of her, you just make sure I don't bleed out too." You said stiffly. Kate was unconscious at this point. Hotch started screaming again. A moment later you saw a figure in the distance. Everything was blurry.

"Hotch! Hotch!" It was Morgan. He was running. "Hotch. What's going on?" He asked. "Dani. Oh my god." He was kneeled next to you. You were feeling a little dizzy and tried your best to not fall onto Kate.

"I'm fine. Where is the ambulance?" You asked Morgan.

"Where is the kid?" Morgan asked.

"Sam?" Hotch said, confused.

"The kid, he's the bomber." Morgan yelled. You looked up to Hotch.

"I got this, go." Hotch said to Morgan. Morgan ran off.

"Hotch." You said.

"What, Dani? What is it?" He said, hand on your stomach wound.

"The ambulance has to get here fast." You whispered.

"I know. Are you feeling okay?" He said. You didn't answer. You didn't know how much longer you could hold onto Kate. She was feeling colder by the minute. "Dani, baby, talk to me?" He said more urgently.

"We are gonna lose her, Aaron..." You said. A second later you left Hotch's hand on your shoulder.

"Dani. The ambulance is here. He's gonna take over." You looked up and a man was standing there.

"When I say go, you are gonna get as far out of my way as you can." you nodded as the medic talked. "Now!" you moved your hand and Hotch pulled you out of the way. He grabbed you and put you in the passenger seat and shut the door. He got in and shut the door, turning the rig on.

"Where is the nearest hospital?" He yelled to the EMT.

"St Berkeleys. Four blocks down, and one block east." He yelled. He started to drive down with the sirens blasting, You laid your head back on the seat and untied the knot of your blazer. You winced as you put pressure on the wound. Blood was running down onto the seat.

"Dani." you heard and looked over. "Stay with me."

"I'm fine. We need to get Kate to the hospital, keep driving." You made it to the entrance where there were men in suits waiting outside.

"The hospital is on strict bypass orders."

"What does that mean?" Hotch asked.

"That the hospital is closed." The man said.

"We have two federal agents here." He pleaded.

"I'm losing her!" A voice sounded from the back. You looked at the face who looked at your wounded. Two hands over your stomach.

"Okay, Okay, drive it in!" The man yelled and Hotch drove through the tunnel. He came to an abrupt stop when nurses came out. He jumped out of the cab and over to your side as they unloaded Kate.

"Dani. Can you walk?" He asked. You nodded. He helped you out of the cab and you leaned on him. He helped walk you in and a nurse grabbed you as you almost fell over. Your knees were weak and your bare feet were covered in both.
