Chapter 19

"Jennifer look what you did."

Lilia says as she and Jen found themselves somewhere else, somewhere under the road.

"What are you talking about Lilia?"

Jen asks recalling the last time the woman said that exact same thing to her.

"You know what I mean. The way you treated Cassandra, the way you acted that entire trial. You're lucky the boy handled us not her because otherwise we'd be dead."

Lilia told Jen as she started to search for a way out, Jen looking down at her feet, she had treated Cass terribly in the last trial.

"Right, that. I'm sorry Lilia."

Jen apologised to Lilia, Lilia wasn't the one Jen needed to be apologising to.

"I'm not the one you need to apologise to. You have no idea what you've done, the monster you've released."

Lilia said, recalling the spell she'd cast on Cass all those years ago, and now that spell had now been broken by the rage Cass had in response to Alice death.

"Oh she was always a monster, so I-"

"Talking to her like that is exactly what got us to where we are right now. She is not someone you want to have as an enemy, Jen."

Lilia cut off Jen, who was about to insult Cass yet again, Lilia knew that Cass knew they were still alive, and most likely could hear them so she didn't want Jen to say any more things she was going to regret.

"I should know. Now let's try and find a way out of here."

Lilia told Jen who nodded the pair looking for a way out of the place they found themselves in.

Cass had managed to hide the fact that she had just passed out having a vision of the future where a sword fell from the roof almost hitting billy.

"Tell me what you saw, Cassie, or I'll tell him about Chernobyl."

Agatha threatened Cass, but she wasn't going to be threatened by her mother anymore, she no longer cared what other people thought of her.

"Why is it whenever you want me to do something you bring up one of 3 things. It's either the Kennedy curse, Chernobyl, or Tenerife?"

Cass asked her mother, as billy looked at the pair confused, Agatha chuckled, they were finally making conversation instead of Billy trying to read both of their minds.

"Okay, now I have to know?"

Billy said causing Cass to roll her eyes, the boy didn't actually have to know he was just curious like always.

"Have to know about what? Which one do you want to know about?"

Cass said, Cass's answer making the boy even more curious than before.

"All of them. But maybe start with Chernobyl, I'm super curious about that one."

Billy said, Cass shook her head, of course he wanted to know about the one that her mother had just threatened her with, as she lightly chuckled, of course the boy wanted to know everything.

"Okay, Chernobyl. So, I was actually the chief safety engineer for the plant at the time, I was running a little late so I told them to start the tests without me. I assumed they knew how to do them properly, big mistake on my behalf. Anyway by the time I got there it was too late to fix the damage they had already done, so I jumped as far away as possible. I wasn't going to die at the hands of someone else's incompetence. But also it was only a matter of time till that happened the reactor design was fundamentally cooked. Anyway they just assumed I was dead, body absolutely obliterated like the others, so I made the best of it. Now did you want to know about Tenerife or the Kennedy thing next?"
