Chapter 28

"Nicky?"

Agatha and Cassie call out as they leave the tavern looking for the boy who is no where to be found, something was wrong, they could both sense it.

It a little while but they finally found the boy, down by the stream.

"Mama. We can kill more witches tomorrow."

The boy told them as they finally found them, it was starting to get dark, which meant that Cassie was firmly gripping Agatha hand, she hated the dark, it reminded her of where she came from.

"I promise."

The boy said as he took off his jacket, coughing as Agatha and Cass approached him, they stood looking at him in silence before cass let go of Agatha's hand to wrap the boy up in a hug.

"You called me your sister."

Cassie said with a smile, the boy giving her a smile in return, Agatha also smiling at the interaction the two children were having.

"You are my sister. Blood or otherwise."

The boy told Cassie, as Agatha started to sing as she sat down with them, the pair joining in. The two children sung together as they laid down to go to sleep, Cassie's arms wrapped around Nicky, like they always were.

Cassie woke up with her arms still wrapped around her brother, but something felt off, different.

"Wake up Nicky."

Cassie said as she shook him, she didn't even get as much as a groan from the boy, which she normally got.

"Wake up Nicky."

Cassie said shaking him slightly more violently this time, she was starting to panic.

"Mama, he's not waking up."

Cassie told Agatha with tears in her eyes, Agatha felt the boy, he was cold.

"No! I want more time!"

Agatha sobbed, Cassie knew that she could somewhat control time, she'd done it on accident a few times.

"Maybe I could try, mama."

Cassie told Agatha who didn't even look up at her, she was still crying over her son, Cassie choosing to make the decision herself. Doing her usual arm movements as green magic started to surround the boy, only then did Agatha look up at the girl.

"What are you doing, Cassie?"

Agatha asked the little girl as engulfed the little boy, Cassie looking at her mother as she kept doing what she was doing.

"You said you wanted more time, mama. I'm trying to give it to you more."

Cassie told Agatha who wrapped her in a hug as the little girl continued to do what she was trying to do. As the boy seemed to start to wake up these people in futuristic armour showed up, it had TVA written in orange letters on their pants. They started to drag Cassie off, the little girl was screaming and Agatha was doing everything in her power to stop them.

"Let her go!"

Agatha screamed, but they'd already dragged her through the portal they came through. Agatha was in tears, she had lost two children today, or at least that's what she thought.

"Mama!"

Agatha suddenly heard Cassie scream, turning around to see the little girl running towards her. Agatha wrapped the girl in a tight hug, confused how she had gotten the girl back.
