Later that day, the meeting was set up at R&R Realty , a front company named after Raj that had no actual connection to real estate. The office was located in an upscale building in Mumbai, designed to look legitimate, with glossy floors, glass walls, and professional decor, but it was where Rakshit’s operations were silently managed. Behind closed doors, deals far darker than property transactions were made.
Virendra Agarwal arrived, dressed impeccably in a dark blue suit, carrying the air of a successful businessman, but there was unease in his eyes as he stepped into Rakshit’s office. Rakshit sat behind the large desk, his presence commanding, while Raj stood nearby, observing the meeting with sharp attention.
"Rakshit," Virendra began with a nod, trying to hide his nerves, "I appreciate you taking the time to meet with me."
"Let’s not waste time, Agarwal, you know my time is precious" Rakshit said coolly, cutting through the pleasantries. "You have a problem, and you think I can solve it. Talk."
Virendra shifted in his seat, knowing he was walking into a negotiation where he had little leverage. "I’ve managed to grow my businesses legally, but… I still have a few skeletons in the closet. Some of the old arms deals I’ve been involved in are coming back to haunt me. There are investigations starting to circle around my operations, and if they dig too deep, they’ll find things I don’t want them to."
Rakshit leaned forward slightly, his eyes never leaving Virendra’s. "You’ve gotten sloppy."
"I’ve been careful!" Virendra shot back, his tone a bit more defensive than he intended. He quickly caught himself and softened his approach. "But things have gotten more complicated. I need your reach. You still have contacts in places I can’t touch anymore. If you can help me shut down these investigations, I’ll make it worth your while."
Rakshit considered the offer silently for a moment, then spoke in a measured tone. "And what exactly are you offering?"
Virendra hesitated, knowing what he was about to offer wasn’t light. "I’ll give you control over some of my offshore accounts. I can also funnel clean money through my logistics businesses. It’ll be untouchable. Completely clean."
Rakshit’s eyes narrowed. "Offshore accounts are useful, but if I’m cleaning up your mess, I need more. You know how I work, Virendra. I don’t just want profits. I want leverage."
Virendra swallowed, sensing the gravity of what Rakshit was asking. "What do you have in mind?"
"You give me a share in your legal businesses—logistics, real estate, all of it. I want a seat at the table in your legitimate empire. You’ll operate it, but my people will have access to everything. In exchange, I’ll make sure every trace of your illegal dealings is erased. Your name will stay clean."
Virendra blinked, processing the offer. This wasn’t just a partnership Rakshit was asking for; it was a takeover. But he knew he had no other choice. "That’s… a big demand."
Rakshit’s expression remained unreadable, but there was a hint of cold steel in his voice. "You came to me because you know I’m the only one who can make this disappear. You either walk away free and in control, or you risk losing everything. Your call."
Virendra sat in silence for a few seconds, weighing his options. Finally, he gave a reluctant nod. "Fine. You’ll get what you want."
Rakshit stood up, signaling the end of the negotiation. "Raj will take care of the details. You’ll get the protection you need, and in return, I’ll be watching every move you make. Don’t forget, Virendra—once you’re in my world, there’s no turning back."
As Virendra left the office, his face pale but determined, Raj looked over to Rakshit. "That went smoother than expected."
Rakshit gave a small smirk. "People like Agarwal always think they can escape the game. But they don’t realize that once you’ve been part of this world, the darkness never leaves."
Raj nodded, understanding the weight of those words. "I’ll start cleaning up his mess with the authorities."
"Good," Rakshit said, returning to his usual cold demeanor. "Make sure nothing points back to us. And keep an eye on him. Agarwal might be useful for now, but if he tries anything… I won’t hesitate to remove him."
With that, the meeting was done, and Rakshit had secured another foothold in the world of legal business, all while staying rooted in the shadows..
