Violet's POV
"Are you sure you will be ok for two weeks on your own" Mrs- Lela asked while we walked towards the waiting car.
"You do realise before you decided to move here full time, I lived on my own and the boys and I were completely fine" I say watching as she hands over her suitcase to Mr Hill, a private driver.
It was currently 5:30 in the morning. I had woken up at 4:30 to do my work out early, try and get the nervous energy out of my body. Now I was standing outside with Lela as she places her other bag in the car before walking back towards me.
"I know, I know but you have your big meeting today, which you'll do great. And tomorrow as well, you've been working so much and I'm just a little worried, that's all." Lela said while giving me a hug, not letting go.
"You don't need to worry about us, we'll be fine. I promise" I say while hugging her just as tight. After a few minutes we pulled away.
"If anything happens and you need me to come home, you just call me and I'll be on the first fight home, ok. I mean it Violet Rose." She said sternly while pointing a finger at me.
"I will but nothing is going to happen ok, now Mr Hill is waiting, and you don't want to miss your flight" I say to her.
"Ok, ok" she says before giving me one more big hug and a kiss on the check before pulling away and walking towards the waiting car.
"Make sure you take lots of photos for me, ok" I say watching her get in. After Mr Hill closed the door, she turned the window down to answer.
"Of course, I will" the car started moving towards the gate "Love You!" She yells out of the window.
"Love you too" I yell back to her. Watching as the car drove out of the gate and turning down the road.
I stand at the front for a few more minutes, watching the gate close before looking up at the dark sky. The sun wouldn't be up for a few more hours yet. Walking back inside I start getting ready for the day.
An hour and a half later
"Alright, Are. We. Ready" I say to the boys, closing the lid of my coffee cup and picking up my own bag before turning towards the boys who were standing near the door picking up their bags.
"We listen to wiggles in the car mummy" Ben asked me while we walked out the door, locking it behind us.
"Ah sure, but no yelling in the car alright" I say to them as we walk towards the car.
"ok" "ok" they both say at the same time. So cute.
After we are all in the car, we start to drive towards the Station and day-care. The boys singing to Hot Potato in the back, and I was quietly going through what I needed to say in my presentation. Yes, I was talking to myself, but we all do it.
After I parked in the parking complex, we all got out and after getting all our bags we walked towards the exit. I was holding onto the boy's hands as we walked towards the stairs, Ben was still singing Hot Potato to himself, and Alex was counting all the cars we were walking past. We made it outside and started walking towards the crossing, which was in front of the day-care, about 200 metres ahead of us.
"Look Mummy it's a fire twuck" Alex said turning his head behind us after hearing the sirens.
We turn to watch the fire truck drive past us and stopping in front of the day-care. We keep walking towards the crossing and its only now that I notice a crowd of people standing in the parking lot.
"No, no, no" I say to myself. Please let this be a nothing. We arrive at the crossing (looking both ways before crossing) and walk towards the group of confused parents, children and staff members. Looking around the crowd I find one the manager talking to a firefighter and pointing towards the building before she starts walking towards the crowd. That's not a good sign.
