   *FAST FORWARD*

CHARLOTTE'S POV

Argh, finally I can get some rest after that tiring week. Even though Ms. C fixed my schedule and I am not performing every day, I still get pretty tired after my performances. Today is Monday, so I don't have to work, and I don't have any practice. I decided to rest the whole day at home and just sleep. I was resting peacefully when I suddenly heard my dad calling me.

"Charlotte, where are you?" my dad shouted.

"Coming, Dad! I'm in my room," I replied.

"Come here for a moment," he said. I hurriedly went to where he was.

"Yeah, Dad, is something wrong?"

"No, nothing's wrong. I just wanted to tell you something."

"Hmm, what is it?"

"So, ahm, the company where I'm working is hiring, and it's specifically for students. What's that term again?" he said, looking at me, trying to find the perfect word.

"Working students?"

"Yeah, that. Working students. You wouldn't have to work every day. You'll work as a secretary, I think. All you have to do is fix the CEO's schedule. You can do it here at home or in the office; that's all you have to do. There are a lot more job offers there, I just forget the others."

"So, you want me to work there?" I asked."

"Yes, I mean, if you want to," he replied.

"What about my work in the club?"

"Charlotte, darling, to be honest, I want you to stop working there."

"But Dad, you know that I can't. Mom basically sold me there."

"I know, that's why I worry whenever you work there."

"You know that I signed a contract. I'll end up in jail if I leave."

"I'll talk to your boss. I'll help you pay off your mother's debts," he offered.

"Dad, I know you're worried about me, but I can't let you work more. You're getting old," I said, letting out a deep sigh.

"But darling, I can't just let you work there knowing that you're not safe."

"And who says I'm not safe? Dad, look, I know you're worried, but I really need this job. Besides, Ms. C is taking really good care of me, so don't worry, okay?"

"But can you at least try to apply to the company?"

"Sure, Dad."

"Thank you, darling," he said, giving me a hug.

"Thank you, darling," he said, giving me a hug
