The jitterbug

The jitterbug was a popular dance in the 30s and 40s.

But it was also a deleted scene from The Wizard of Oz

The scene, in itself, cost countless thousands of dollars to make. And it took five weeks.

The scene was to go right before Dorothy gets captured by the witch.

The stars were still in the haunted forest and this little mosquito, the Jitterbug, would bite them and make them dance.

You can hear the song that went with it on Apple Music and watch the scene itself on YouTube.

While the scene may have been deleted, there's still a line that relates to the Jitterbug in the final film.

It's the line where the witch says, "I've sent a little insect on ahead to take the fight out of them."

It's one of those lines that confuse audiences who don't know it may relate to a deleted scene.
